I really liked a few professors and their teaching style and the BA subjects that we had to study
The campus. It's very green and weather of Ranchi is also quite nice.
The fact that students get single room from their 2nd year in college is also very commendable.
Dislikes
Some professors and their inability to teach the subject they're given.
The hygiene condition inside the mess is not really good at times. So that's needs to be taken into consideration.
Non maintenance of the huge campus that we've got.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Well I'm a first year student and in the first year we were mostly taught BA subjects like English, economics, philosophy, legal history, contract and tort. Among these, I think that legal history and philosophy were the most important subjects that we got to study. They're highly practical and helps us develop arguments and gets us to know about the history of how the legal system in India came into being. Exams are conducted on a pretty good time intervals.
Effective communication between students and administration, The Vice Chancellor is improving everything, The coding in the examination notebooks, supportive teachers, Excess to reading materials, Greenery around,
The peaceful location choosen for the college away from city, The manner of celebration all the festivals like eid, ganesh chaturthi, etc. , Good teachers who teach well and are experts in their field, Available Scholarship
Different centres such as Legal Aid, Gender justice. etc., The annual fest-Avirbhaav
Dislikes
Some teachers are not well expert in their field, though the college is at peaceful location but at night, it's not safe to leave the campus
Placement Experience:
In 5th year, companies start coming for the placements.Being a 2nd year student, I don't have much knowledge about it. But our last batch senior who passed out. Many of them I heard that they got placements. The placements were around like 12,00,000.
Campus life is great for the students. Campus life is great.
Good for the people who are into sports.
Every classroom has is air conditioned and has a smart board installed in it.
Dislikes
Few classes have projector and does not have a smart board
Only one academic building there is requirement of more buildings
Requirement of a new library only for law books
Course Curriculum Overview:
Here the positive part is that most of the law teachers are from nlus or from good law collages. The teachers here have a good knowledge of the field of law and most of the teachers are helpfull. Negative part sometimes the teachers are not able to fully complete there syllabus because law is a vast subject.
One of the aspects is that the University has very good crowd and the students are really hardworking. Apart from that the only shortcoming is that the university lack NLU level infrastructure.
I am very socially active person. I take part on every festival, competitions etc. It's quite a balanced campus journey for me
The faculty is nice they are well educated but some are a bit grumpy so you have to manage it
Dislikes
The infrastructure is not as per the level of other NLUs
Sometimes it's literally disheartening to see faculties behaving whatever they want based on their mood
The campus life is good but need more fun. We don't get fund allocation for extra curricular, which creates problems.
Student Snaps:
Course Curriculum Overview:
It does helps you to get good jobs and learn and crack national exams too. The curriculum is well curated and it caters students needs. Therefore students should read and study their curriculum in a very good and diligent way
Social life I rate 4 out of 5. We do celebrate festivals together, organise center based events, lectures, prom nights,DJ nights. So it's a balance of fun and academic events Seniors are helpful. There's no any sort of isolation or discrimination.
It's inclusive campus of all gender and we do support each other. Placement cell is active but maj tries to get their own PPOs. We get big firms in our campus but the ratio is still upgrading.
Whatever infrastructure we are rn with are of top notch. The hostels and academic buildings are very well infra wise. The curriculum is flexible as per the need and helps us in the professional field In real.
Dislikes
I don't like some of the faculties and their mindset of awarding marks. They are by theirind bound to give 3/5 in the best answers. So that average goes down.
We need more infrastructure because a lot of space is vacant. We have the plan but should be executed soon.
Location is a disadvantage because distant from the maintown but the connectivity is good and we have places nearby to visit. Be it for essentials or luxury
Placement Experience:
People starts getting Pre-Placemt offers from their last semesters.
College do provide the placements to those who apply but in the earlier years maj used to go for Judiciary,UPSC or higher studies. So limited used to apply so limited company interaction we had.
But from the latest few years in back our college provides a good amount of placement and many companies are coming here. It's evolving daily.
Meanwhile many opt their own search for jobs via internships in firms.
We have seniors placed in Khaitan, CAM, SAM, MSA.etc. Even seniors are opting higher studies in foreign countries. So overall it's the hardwork of the student and help of the college. The NLU tag in itself opens atleast one door. The learnings.
The mooting culture is really good. We get proper training sessions for drafting, research and oral rounds. There is a fresher's moot court competition held every year to introduce first years to mooting.
Lush green campus situated outside the main city. The environment is really good. Campus is large, with four badminton courts (both indoor and outdoor). There are two basketball courts along with cricket ground, a football field and lawn tennis court
The senior-junior culture of college is really good. Seniors are always there to help juniors. Seniors act as mentors.
Dislikes
Infrastructure. The college lacks infrastructure. Library is small. There is no moot court room.
Faculties are less in number. There is only one professor who is VC only. There are very few Associate professors, rest are assistant professors and teaching assistants.
Location of the college is a disadvantage. College being situated in Jharkhand lacks in terms of opportunities because of Ranchi's lesser connectivity and Jharkhand being a poor state
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for campus placements after 8th semester. There are various law firms and corporate companies which visit college like Trilegal, SAM, CAM, ICICI Bank, etc. Many AORs are also invited to hire students under them. Although the campus placement is not that great, but students do find job after graduation. Many students go for LLM after the course also.
In one batch, there is limited seats of only 120 student.
our faculty is comprehensive and engaging
we have vibrant range of student of student, which makes the university fruitful.
Dislikes
our university exists in outside of main city.
we have limited source of purchasing things as instant.
Placement Experience:
in our university we have placement committee, which set the offer to the student each year, in 2023 26 student place and 23 opt for the higher sudies out of 120 students, which is very mearge as compared to top NLUs. student get placed such as Khaitan & Khaitan co. and many others. the average salary of placement is 10LPA.
my plan after getting the degree is to get any pre-placed offer to any firm and didn't get then, prefer litigation at High court.
The hostel and the fact that we all have a balcony. Rooms are very spacious considering we are all single sharing it after our first year.
We have a common mess unlike most of the colleges out there, and boys hostel and girls hostel are very close so it doesn't feel like a vast difference. Campus is very spacious too.
The senior junior relation. Unlike most colleges, the college provides a very inclusive relationship between juniors and seniors. People are very helpful, playful and fun. So you got your back.
Dislikes
Infrastructure. We only have 4 buildings- 2 hostels, 1 mess and 1 acad. But the good thing is that they are finally extending the campus. They have already got the money and released the tender for the same.
Eating places. We only have a Nescafe, for the past 6 months pur canteen has been closed and even if it is open I do believe we need more places to hangout.
Connectivity. The airports and railway station are quite far so that becomes an issue at times but the college does provides bus if many students our travelling for drop services. They even provide food packets!!
Placement Experience:
5th year (final year students) are the only ones eligible for placement. You can work on your own to get one before that.
The placement cell has very recently become active and so we need to wait 6 more months to see the real ratio of placements made. However, most students here either pursue LLM, or they get placement offers before the college can provide them or they simply go for preparing judiciary, govt counsels, or other jobs.
NUSRL Ranchi offers a comprehensive curriculum with undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral programmes in low the faculties known for its education and expertise contributing to a robust academic environment
Nusrl campus is over 67 acres and And classrooms are well liquid with projectors and smart boards and there is a well equipped library and collaborative study species
NUSRL fosters a vibrant campus life with various extracurricular activities mood could competition and supportive community in enhancing the overall student experience
Dislikes
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for campus placements in their final year of study the internship and placement committee facilitates interaction between strengths and potential employers ensuring readiness for recruitment courses
Law firms that visited NUSRL Ranchi are :
Khatan and Co.
Luthra and Luthra Law offices
Shardul Amarchands
The campus is beautiful. Not a lot of buildings but nature is so damn good.
The weather of campus is also damn good.
The seniors are helpful. They help you with you academics as well as sports
Dislikes
The faculty is somewhat untrained. Teachers here have no Idea what they are teaching.
There is so much red tapeism in this College. Everything takes days to be done.
The rooms are so small and sharing upto 3rd year.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is decent there are 6 subjects in first year. English, philosophy, legal history, legal methods, economics and political science. Well the curriculum dose prepare you for the worst but still isn't that good. There is Semester systems with midterms and internal assessment
