Course Curriculum Overview

4

The amount of research papers we write, the law and non law subjects we are taught which are still connected to law (like sociology- crime, society; psychology- mind, thoughts; economics- society), the activities and internship gaps. All these made me choose this course. The areas for improvement I would say is more focus on drafting aspects rather than analysis. Because reading bare acts directly indirectly teaches us the same but drafting needs a separate attention from the very sem 1. The exams do occur on fixed timings. It's all very strictly maintained. June and December is fixed for mid sems and end sems. L

Internships Opportunities

4

After every semester we have one month of internship breaks. So 10 internships in total. We can get them by our own sources or applications and our college also helps us in providing the same. People do intern in district courts, high courts and supreme courts. They also intern under firms like Khaitan, CAM, SAM ,MSA etc. Some do not get stipeds like in initial years like first and second but some do get the same of even 10k. So it's subjective to the place you are interning at.

Placement Experience

4

People starts getting Pre-Placemt offers from their last semesters. College do provide the placements to those who apply but in the earlier years maj used to go for Judiciary,UPSC or higher studies. So limited used to apply so limited company interaction we had. But from the latest few years in back our college provides a good amount of placement and many companies are coming here. It's evolving daily. Meanwhile many opt their own search for jobs via internships in firms. We have seniors placed in Khaitan, CAM, SAM, MSA.etc. Even seniors are opting higher studies in foreign countries. So overall it's the hardwork of the student and help of the college. The NLU tag in itself opens atleast one door. The learnings.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is divided into hostel fees as 19k yearly and 55k tuition fees per sem+ wifi 1500+ and other fees all together as 2 lakh 28 thousand. Yes we do have reservations but not in fees. All have to pay the same fees. But people do get scholarships like the academic, backward category, economically weaker sections and other sort of scholarships. Because it's a NLU so the prices are comparatively high than the central universities but the infrastructure and curriculum and other facilities do justify it. There is +,- difference in the fees of other nlu also. It comes amongst the moderate ones. Like the cheapest NLU is RMNLU Lucknow with only 1.95 fees and the costliest is NLSIU Bangalore

Campus Life

4

Campus life - 4/5 Events, Fests, lectures, Relations. Events- Rifaqat for Diwali, Ulfat-e-Rang for Holi, Food fests, Avirbhaav the annual event, Yuventas the Cultural club events, DJ nights, Garba nights, Prom nights. Sports-Intra university competitions, Badminton league every year, cricket, basketball etc. Inter NLU sport events as well. Clubs-Literary and Cultural Centers- Legal aid, gender Justice, Peace club, Human rights, Criminal, Consumer chair, child rights and mannnnnny more. S.B sinha memorial lectures yearly. Judicial academy visits and lectures. Guest lectures of senior advocates, A.O.Rs,Judges and even Chief justices.

Hostel Facilities

4

I would consider it as one of the bestest hostels amongst a lot many colleges. Single rooms from 2nd year with attached balconies. The perfect space and ventilation and the aesthetics and cleanliness. It's bestt Meal is okayish. Like some days nice some days uhh. But yes overall 3 out of 5. It is registered on the day of documents verification while taking admission. Localated inside the campus only.

Admission

I was very clear that I have to go to a NLU anyday over anything . There are good private universities but the name that a NLU has is unmatched. Even the internship and placement opportunities these days are preferring NLU grads. Moving to central Universities. No doubt they are good as well but the work culture and exposure which I can get into a NLU is unmatched. The kindoff compulsion of internships, Moot court exercises and discipline of the course is something which a NLU only can fulfill. It's meant for Law!!!

Faculty

3

We have good number of faculties but more are needed. Not that anything gets hamper but for the betterment. Almost all the faculties are approachable and helping but some runs their entire semester as per their mood swings. Their marking criteria is totally based on their mood and have the habit of not awarding more marks even I'm perfect answers. For the best answers you are bound to get just 3 out of 5. We have 2 major exams per sem. Mid terms and finals. Mid terms is of 20 marks and finals 50. Rest we are awarded on basis of viva, case analysis,Research papers,Presentation etc. for 30 marks. The difficulty level is from moderate to high side. The course curriculum is very relevant as per me as it teaches us for the real life we will face outside in this profession (*saying based on internship experiences). Research work, drafting, theories, case analysis, presentations all helps In overall development.

Night Life

4

Fav hangout spot for all is Nescafe and Power House chowk. And the evening roads and random benches where it's soft breeze and silence and pretty skies. We can easily roam till 11:00 pm in our campus and then back to hostels. Till that time no restriction to go anywhere within the campus. It's very a society kinda experience where we see a lot people talking, doing their work, eating, walking and playing in campus. Gym and library for their fans.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well I'm a first year student and in the first year we were mostly taught BA subjects like English, economics, philosophy, legal history, contract and tort. Among these, I think that legal history and philosophy were the most important subjects that we got to study. They're highly practical and helps us develop arguments and gets us to know about the history of how the legal system in India came into being. Exams are conducted on a pretty good time intervals.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Here the positive part is that most of the law teachers are from nlus or from good law collages. The teachers here have a good knowledge of the field of law and most of the teachers are helpfull. Negative part sometimes the teachers are not able to fully complete there syllabus because law is a vast subject.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after 8th semester. There are various law firms and corporate companies which visit college like Trilegal, SAM, CAM, ICICI Bank, etc. Many AORs are also invited to hire students under them. Although the campus placement is not that great, but students do find job after graduation. Many students go for LLM after the course also.

5th year (final year students) are the only ones eligible for placement. You can work on your own to get one before that. The placement cell has very recently become active and so we need to wait 6 more months to see the real ratio of placements made. However, most students here either pursue LLM, or they get placement offers before the college can provide them or they simply go for preparing judiciary, govt counsels, or other jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main motive to choose the course or to say likely to choose these course because it is very learning course for every student to know there right and duties and more over laws. After choosing the course it was really hardship to cover whole syllabus at one semester though I process it out and make it easy the law basically tought us to solve the reasoning in short and simple. Which I am learning in my whole semester which is not affecting my exams and internship duration.
