Course Curriculum Overview

5

I has a vision to study English from the very beginning. I wanted to study English since i was good at English and also the most important thing was me being an isce student upto class 12 which inculcated a strong English base in me English as a subject is very vast. As the world is heading towards modernisation English has become a very important thing. Gossner college has good English professors and also i heard a lot from most of my seniors that gossner college has best English faculty. The frequency of exam is 2 exams per semester where the portion tought in the syllabus is asked and it's not very easy and not very tough too

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearwise fees of my course bachelor of arts in English was as follows First year 17000 Second year 15000 Third year 13000 Tution fee per month was 22rs annual charge included 2000rs college building fund included amount of rs1500 staff fund was charged to be rs 2500. The university exam fee included rs 1000 library fees was rs 800 games and cultural fees included an amount of 600 rupee. Building maintenance charge was 800 and development fees was 5000 The fees of the minority students was comparatively lower than the general category students. The amount difference between sc / st and general students was not much but only 500 600 rupee difference. Scholarship was provided by the state government at every year only to the minority students.

Campus Life

3

The youth fest along with several cultural programmes was hosted in the college which included sports events freshers and farewell events The library of the college is big enough and spacious. It has all the necessary books of all the students of any department. The college has ncc Sports events happen frequently

Admission

I didn't apply for any other college i had no other college in my mind to study English. I filled the form of this college and i was shortlisted in the first cut off list itself. The admission process was very simple. I has to fill up the form and because I was taking admission right after covid period there was no entrance exam at that time. I was selected on the basis of my 12th board exams marks. The eligibility of admission was passout with 60% and at least 75% in the honours subject. According to my knowledge the most no of students were in English honours itself

Faculty

5

The faculty is superb. The hod of English department is the most humble lady I've ever met in my life. Being the hod she was never too full of herself. Always cooperative and she has always pushed the students for studies and also the extra curriculum. A total of 6 professors were there to teach the different topics 4 being female professors and 2 male professors. I personally admired my hod Dr. Eva margret hansdak. She has been kind and generous throughout the graduation. There was no such professors whom i had any grudges against. All the professors are well educated and student friendly The exams are conducted in the college for the mid semester and the end semester exams are conducted by the Ranchi university. Each semester has 2 exams the mid semester and end semester. Most of the students clear the exams with good grades except a few including those who miss their exams The exams are not very tough it's on moderate basis

Night Life

The location of college is near sujata chowk in Ranchi. The opposite of the college has the international library the lake is behind the college and it is a healthy environment in the campus. According to me the location of the college is quite decent with not much noise. It's a calm atmosphere a safe decent campus for girls too

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially, I chose English Honours because I thought it would be a very easy subject. However, once I took admission and started studying it, I realized how deep and theoretical it is. When I read about the poets, their life stories, and the era they lived in, I became deeply fascinated. My interest in the subject kept growing, and that is why I chose this field."My English and vocabulary have also become much stronger after taking English Honours. I am truly grateful for this."The existing teaching methodology was effective and satisfactory; therefore, no modifications were necessary."

The course curriculum can be related a fairly relevant and mandatory comprehensive. While it covers the fundamental concepts required for the subject there is still scope for including more practical, skill oriented and industry focused content. Updating the curriculum regularly with current trends and real world applications would make it even more effective and beneficial for student
