BIT Mesra is Musical!!

There was no specific reason on why i chose Mechanical branch but I felt like this is an area which is my forte. I love building something and unless mechanism is allowed in that, it don't give me the vibe as I can't sit in front of a computer and do coding 24*7. So mechanical engineering where we get learning at labs that have real machineries is what we have at our campus.

Mechanical branch in terms of number of students placed is quite high but if it is about how many students get elite packages it's less. The average for our branch at our college is 8-9 lakhs but top companies which are into our core space for long are our college partners.

Ours is a prestigious college and therefore a premium fees is what it charges as well. 480k is the fees for a year and even the ones who come from a poor background or so, has to arrange the fees as scholarships and all aren't there to aid much.

Many societies be it Nazakt aur Khel Mahajan and even societies for social services are there at our campus. So, students can be a part of any society and bring a change in themselves or the society, as they have all such choices. Now, coming to this portion of entertainment we have an entertaining fest called Bitotsav and trust me it's one of the best in our state at least.

Hostels are great in second year as in first year a hoatke with common washroom and a room which even wasn't that big we had to deal with three students. Luckily I am past my 1st year and now enjoy a comfortable stay as well as food as we get eggs daily and non vegetarian food at least twice every week.

I had admissions in many colleges and even NIT Durgapur too, if I have to name a prestigious college. I still chose BIT Mesra as the kind of facilities that our college has are much better than NIT Durgapur. Also, admission here are also based on rankings of various entrance exams.

As every engineering college exams in each semester are divided into two. But not just the mid-semesters and end semester marks but even labs performance are also evaluated. Our faculties are strict but at the same time not a miser at all when it comes to gives us marks for internals. Some faculties are quite good while some are the ones who wear strict lens always.

Late night activities are mostly in hostel as we play music and in the commom room what matches and movies together. Hostel in time is 9.30 pm and often stays inside the campus only. However, there are good hagour spots outside the campus and one of them is Yum Yum Cafe.
