Remarks
I initially applied for Venkateshwara college since that was the best college I could get given my percentage through the first cut-off list. After the next cut-off list came, I upgraded to Hansraj, since I anyway wanted to attend a college in the North Campus of DU. Finally, I upgraded to Hindu college, since it had a slightly better NIRF ranking. I applied for BCom Hons since it was the most lucrative degree available to me, the minimum percentage for admission for which was 98%.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exams in the first semester were held in the online medium (open book exams). They are held at the end of every semester, and are comparatively not very difficult, though it varied from subject to subject.
Internships Opportunities
Though I have not done an internship yet, the internship opportunities provided by the college, namely the internship cell are immense in number and regular. Many students from different colleges participated in the internship fair of the society held in February of 2021. Many were able to find the internships they were looking for, while the cell was able to conduct the fair in the online mode pretty smoothly.
Placement Experience
I, being a first year, am not knowledgeable enough to answer this question, but I do know that the placement cell and internship cell of the college works pretty proactively in reaching out to companies and hosting placement drives and internship drives.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is extremely student friendly. The yearly fees is a meager amount of 20,000 approximately, which needless to say, is significantly less than the yearly fees of private colleges. There is a system in place for scholarships and financial assistance, which I believe is straight forward, and isn't met with much friction.
Campus Life
Since I have only attended the classes in the online medium, I can't say much for the life at campus. Though from what I've heard, the students are mainly involved in the clubs/societies, so I'd deem the college life to be pretty social. Being a part of 2 societies, I believe that most of the commotion throughout the year probably revolves around societies and the fests organised by them.
