Remarks

Getting admission in Delhi University was my dream AND clearing UPSC is still my dream.we all know the value of the Delhi University Certificate. But apart from certificate, the most important thing that a student gets in the campus of DELHI UNIVERSITY is that Incomparable Exposure, that Environment and guidance of knowledgeable Professors and Cultural Societies and Fests work as cheery on the cake.Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College ranked 15 in the NIRF Ranking. All the teachers are friendly and cooperative with students.New Building of DDUC in DWARKA is a Plus point for the students. This college is not so advanced in sports facilities and also not have a good ground. But if you are looking for a good environment with knowledgeable persons guidance and coming for study and to enjoy your college life than I would suggest it's a good choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

From starting only I am interested in reading books but my first option was Political Science but due to the lack of seats, I choose English Hons as my graduation subject. One more thing is that I will get enough time also to prepare for UPSC. All the professors are highly qualified with PhD and other degrees. All the faculty are cooperative and you never find yourself alone if you will start engaging with the teachers as they also share news and articles and Jokes also in groups. Teachers uses examples also for explaining anything.

Internships Opportunities

4

DDUC has its own Placement cell which offers off and on campus internship. The Cell has created two major documents, College Brochure and a Student Docket. The College Brochure containing information about strength of our college, courses taught, achievements and facilities provided was sent to every company presently visiting our college for recruitment. A Student Docket functioning as a how-to guide for students contains important articles and tips for interviews, group discussions and soft skills etc.To facilitate students, the placement cell organized workshops and training sessions. The students also got selected for on-campus internships. Some students were selected by Smartex, Green Thumbs and Aditya Birla. Apart from this, several companies like BlueGape, Greymeter, Zomato Food Blogger, Social Media Interns, Stint Mint Campus Ambassador Program, Instincts, Rebanko.com, IMS, Sports and Fitness Pvt. Ltd, Spoon University, Wipro Earthian, Josh Talks, Feeding India, Tails.

Placement Experience

3.5

About 10% of the Students get placement, which is very low in ratio. The highest salary package offered is approx 5LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is nearby 2.5LPA, which I think is not good as aspirants need to be paid more. The top recruiting companies that come in our college are Havells, Bajaj Electronics, DRDO, ISRO, Wipro, Bank of Scotland, Haldiram etc. Only some students did internships. Our college is trying to reach students' priorities for jobs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure for Ba English Hons is 19545 for all the students but you will avail any quota like PWD or something else then fees will be very minimal. The scholarship is also there for students having financial issues or for Toppers. If it comes to campus jobs then we all know that Delhi University has a very high-quality placement cell. All though it depends on how are your marks in academic and other activities and the exams of companies.

Campus Life

4.5

In this pandemic also Delhi University Colleges managed to Conduct Fests through Online mode and organized many Competitions and webinars also like Photography Fests By POLAROID- The Photography Society of DDUC, Kalamkaar- The literature Society of DDUC, and many others like this. You will get all the books of your choice in the library and will also get a peaceful environment to study. There are many sports activities also but not at that much high level, one can play intercollege and with sometimes with other Universities. College doesn't have a good ground but yes it has a good campus. Main Societies of DDUC are POLAROID- PHOTOGRAPHY SOCIETY, RAGA- DANCE SOCIETY, KALAMKAAR- LITERATURE SOCIETY and there some more for Singing also. There are some societies for mental peace also.

Interview Experience

5

I took admission as per the Merit List. Although there is an entrance exam for getting admitted in Delhi University Colleges also and if you will choose to give the entrance exam then you will also be eligible for Merit list admission. You just have to fill the entrance examination form through the Delhi University site by paying entrance exam Fees. There is no interview and group discussion in both ways. In the merit list, you just have to check In which college you are getting admission to, the merit list released by Delhi University on its Portal, and if you had the entrance then you have to check its results.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The ba programe here is little different from other colleges accross the country. The curriculum is quite diversified. If you are intrested in arts , there is lot to learn. If one want to become writter or any thing related to literature , or want to become historian , geo-politics expert, etc. The course is quite good. The exams held every four and a half or five months and the difficulty level is moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like this course is about rights and authorities which is very important for everyone nowadays and specially when you are a girl so that nobody couldn't dominate you. We read about what were the past sceniors towards the lower castes or women which is also happens in most of the states and cities but this curriculum taught us whats the reality of the world and how to be independent and how to protest for our rights . Even we can more learn about this if the faculity organises those things via presentation or streamings with some videos so it will be more helpful in our exams too!!

English honours was my first preference because I like to read and write. Analysing texts is something I was always fond of and with the guidance of my professors it's become more fun. The course has not much placements opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coming to english hons I had a little different expectations and this turned out to be a little different, This course is too much till where I have studied is inclined towards literature which sometimes students do not like. There are many subjects inside the core, but subjects like literary studies caught lot of attention due to it's attractiveness and different perspectives. Sometimes things go a lot off syllabus which disrupts mindful learning but thankgod it's just 30-40% of it.

The course curriculum is not updated . Teachers uses old method of teaching on pen and paper. Like in statistics now various tools are available in market and instead of making us learn those tools teachers are teaching the most basic things on pen and paper. But the course is very demanding nowadays.

The course is basically design to study economics in a depth so that the understanding of student related to world economic, how economics work , how it affect an individual etc increase and he can work more efficiently to give theories and work in the companies related to economics. The curriculum includes value added course and skill enhanced courses that help us to learn different types of skills that are required in the real world applications. Improvement in these can be done by asking the student to apply all these into real life and connect students with the real life approaches related to the course. For core subjects the timing of paper is 3 hours and for sec and vac courses the timing of paper is 1 hour.
