Remarks

The college is worth it mainly because of the students and the peers we have here. The students is what make VJTI what it is and every students ends up adding value to the college and to himself in the course of the 4 years. The college management however needs to give a better push to extracurricular activities and encourage students to participate even outside the classroom.

Entrance Preview

I took MHT-CET in 2010 which is an engineering entrance exam and scored 183/200. I opted for VJTI because of the brand name of VJTI since it is one of the top engineering colleges in Maharashtra.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was well structured to include all the necessary subjects. My major was Information Technology. The course included practical as well as theoretical aspects of the subjects. However, the lab courses were not that great and weren't that effective to gain practical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college did not provide internship when I was a student. However, there is an internship cell setup after I graduated which is doing a decent job in getting some of the top recruiters such as Amazon, Microsoft, Credit Suisse, JSW, Morgan Stanley to college for internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement opportunities are excellent. The Training and Placement Cell of the college is renowned for its brilliant placement record. The top companies that visit are Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Morgan Stanley and the like. The average package is around 3-5L in the college. The tpc package varies between 18-24L. There are also some companies such as Rakuten which offer international placements. However, most of the roles are information technology based roles.

College Events

4.5

There are numerous events and festivals conducted in the college. This is the best part about VJTI. The learning and opportunities for self development are tremendous and there are events covering almost every aspect of life. Below are the most popular events/societies- 1. Technovanza - technical festival, 2. Pratibimb - cultural festival, 3. Enthusia - sports festival, 4. E-Cell - Entrepreneurship cell, 5. DLA - Debate and Literary Arts Society the festivals are decently crowded and we have footfalls of more than 5K during the days of the festivals. We have more than 2-3K students participating in each festival every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees are quite cheap and reasonable. The fees were around 40K per year when I was a student. This is not that high since its a government-backed college.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I didn't avail any scholarship from my college.

Campus Life

3

There are people from all kinds of economical and social background and everyone mixes up well with each other. This is one of the best parts about the college social life. The gender ratio is almost equal and there are people who are quite open in nature as well as some reserved people from small towns who eventually open up as college progresses. There are loads of extracurricular activities where people connect with each other be it festivals or events or sports games or Alumni meets. There are robotics and automobile societies as well who have lots of events and seminars leading up to competitions. The DLA also conducts frequent debating competitions and MUNs in college.

Hostel Facilities

3

I was a locality from Mumbai so I didn't stay in the hostel. From what I know, the hostel facilities are decent and not that bad. They're as good as most of the other college hostels in India. The mess food is also decent and edible enough to survive 4 years of college. I don't know about the rentals or fees since I didn't use the hostel or PGs.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network is brilliant and very well connected. If there is help needed from the Alumni for the students be it financial aid or career-related help, the Alumni Association leaves no stone unturned to help the students. The seniors are the best source of knowledge and direction in the college and will guide you better than anyone else if you are willing to approach them.

Exam Structure

There is an end semester examination every semester and two ISTs in the middle of the semester. Also, there are frequent class tests every semester for each subject which are included in the final grading. The labs were conducted every week. The overall day is chilled out and there isn't a lot of pressure for attendance either.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty is moderate and not that great. Except for a few exceptions, most of the faculty is not that good in terms of qualifications as well as teaching style.
