- VJTI college is one of the finest colleges in India and Maharashtra. Our college has best faculties, best placements and the events happening here are just awesome. Talking about girls to boys ratio then in my branch there are 24 girls out of 80.
- Almost every faculty member is a PhD holder. Majority of them are from IIts and foreign Universities. Even some faculties are also research associate at IIT Bombay.
- Overall campus life is good. Institute crowd is from all over the India. Majority from Maharashtra itself. There are many clubs. 'Rangwardhan' and 'Pratibimb' are the main cultural club. There are clubs for sport, literature, entrepreneurship too.
Dislikes
- There are two things which I really felt disappointed when I came to this college. One is campus area and other one is infrastructure. Infrastructure is not that bad but not as per what college has its reputation across country.
- College has 16 acres of campus. which is quite small as compared to other engineering colleges. But having 16 acres of campus in area like South Bombay is impressive.
- College infrastructure is not that good. But college administration has started renovation almost half of the renovation is done. Some labs, classrooms and hostels are still under renovation.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum desinged according to new education policy. There are subjects like bio sciences and Ayurveda are included in our syllabus. Subjects like communications and bussiness are also incuded. Frequency of exam is 2 times a semester. 6th semester is all about internship.
Internships Opportunities
Many of our seniors got internship at MNCs and one of them got internship at Google, Paris too. Even TBA(tTechnical Bussines Incubator) of our college offer internship to our own students to work in startups led by college students.
Placement Experience
1. From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. 2. Companies like Oracle, Texas Instruments and many more visit here. I'm not sure whether Google visited here or not but Google visited here for Internship and one student got selected. 3. Last year's highest package was 57 lpa CTC from cse and talking about average packages then cse-19.71, it-17.38, extc(entc)-11.13, electronics-11.17, electrical-10.43, mechanical-9, civil-6.87, production-7.28, textile-8.28. 4. Percentage of students getting placed are cse-93%, it-95%, extc(entc)-82%, electronics-84%, electrical-95%, mechanical-97%, civil-92%, production-70%, textile-72%. 5. Since I'm in second semester I haven't decided anything. Most probably I will persue higher education.

Campus Life
1. Belive me the fest happening in college are incredible. There are two main cultural commitees 'Rangawardhan' and 'Prtibimb'. 'Enthusia' is the sport commitee. Annual fest of 'Rangwardhan' and 'Pratibimb' are held in the month of December. Sports fest is held in the month of February where many colleges from Mumbai participates including IIT-B. 2. Library of the college is very much big. Lot of books available there. 3. Since some classrooms are not renovated yet. But renovated classrooms are equipped with all the facilities like digital board, black board, white board, projectors, a.c., etc. 4. Sports facilities are not as per expectations. College have one football ground, one cricket ground, one vollyball court, one basketball court, one kabbadi ground and gymkhana has carrom, chess and table tennis. 5. There are various clubs runned by our seniors like COC(Community of Coders), SRA(Society of Robotics ans Automation), Racing club, Drbate and literary arts, dance club, Obsidian-The band, and many more.
Hostel Facilities
College has limited seats in hostel and they do not allow local students for hostels. Not everyone here gets the hostel, it is completely merit based. For first year there are 4 students in one room and for second third year students 2 or 3 students in a room and 2 students in one room for final year student. Meal quality of mess is quite good but dont expect too much. Registration and other updates of hostel are published on VJTI's official website. Please keep eye on this process check website regularly as they accept offline registration only. Renting room on private basis is too much costly in this area.
Admission
Talking about other colleges I applied for, I registered for JOSAA and CSAB both. Through JOSAA I got the IIT Dharwad, since I got the BS plus MS programm there I regestered for CSAB, through CSAB I secured seat into iiit Bhopal cse. Because it is a newly established iiit, it does have poor facilities. Then through CAP counselling I got seat at VJTI. Then Ieft iiit Bhopal and joined VJTI. Today I think that, the decision taken by me was absolutely right. Apart from this I also applied for IIST Thiruvananthpuram but due to my 12th board score I could not make it. As IIST has a criteria that student should secure minimum 75% in board exams. IIST does not have 20%ile criteria where all iits, nits and gftis has.
Faculty
Almost every faculty member is a PhD holder. Majority of them are from IITs and foreign Universities. Even some faculties are research associate at IIT Bombay. Every teacher has their own method of teaching like some teach on blackboard some on PPTs and even some teachers give projects or group discussion. Teachers here are very much approachable. You can go in their cabin and ask doubts. Talking about exam system and marking schemes. We have 2 exams in a semester. One is Mid Sem Exam and other is End Sem Exam. Mid Sem Exam has 30% weightage in final result, End Sem Exam has 50% weightage in final result and rest 20% is for Teacher Assesment. Exams are not too hard. Still some students could not pass. Around 5 student fail in every subject. Since our college is autonomous we have Re-Exam before final result so failed student can appear for them and clear the subjects. Then they do not have to Re-appear for it in next semester.
Night Life
There is no any gym in the college. College has two study space area where you will hangout and do gossips and study. Library is too big and contains lot of books and all. There is area quadrangle near the canteen where you will spend most of your time with friends. College gate closes at 23:30 and opens at 5:30. Local area here is very safe to hangouts and nightouts. There are many famous places nearby. Travelling in Mumbai is very easy and cheap unless you travel in peak hours.
