Remarks

Good: IIT Kharagpur is oldest in all IITs .IIT Kharagpur has got biggest campus size in all IITs of about 2000 acres. The biggest thing due to which I took admission in the IIT KGP is the great alumna structure of the college. The beautiful infrastructure of this College fascinated me a lot for taking admission in this college. During placements ,around 250-300 companies visits the campus including big companies like Amazon ,Google and Facebook. Admission process is easy .All the stuff is done online right from document verification.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose metallurgical department because famous alumina of IIT Kharagpur was from this department. Pros: Maximum faculty members are PhD from reputed university. They are extremely knowledgeable and they clarify our doubts . Cons: The teaching of maximum professors is not so interesting .There is lot of pressure of academics including numerous test ,assignment and quizzes.

Internships Opportunities

There are so many on campus and off campus internship you will get to do .Some companies offer internship out of India also The companies like google ,Microsoft and many big companies offer internships with good stipend.

Placement Experience

Campus placement Is biggest positive of IIT KGP .Around 250-300 visits the campus for placement including big companies such as amazon, google, Microsoft and many others. The average package of the college is also very good of about 12lack rupees all you need to learn coding. My plan is do research and innovation in the field of science to after graduation .

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is as follows : For (all SC,ST category students and OBC students whose family income less than 1 lakh hostel fees :49k institute fees: 0 For students whose family income between 1 to 5 lakh Hostel fees 49k institute fees : 33k For students whose family income above 5 lakh Hostel fees :49k institute fees:1 lakh There are number of scholarship schemes for students .

Campus Life

There are lots of clubs ,societies running in colleges. They organize so many fests ,programs and webinars. The hostel life of IIT KGP is most amazing thing about the campus. All the students are so much helpful and loving.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are good not like the 5 star hotel but you can say 3 star hotel. The meal quality is also good but it is not home like food .all the hostel are inside the campus and each hostel have sport facilities.

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
