Remarks

The faculty is very supportive and good. Practical's are conducted in an organized way. Library has almost all the books essential for the course knowledge, hostel facilities are not that good. The college campus is beautiful and peaceful also it is on walking distance from the metro station. College provides abundance of extra curricular activities to participate in which it is actually helpful in many aspects. The admission process includes the selection on the basis of aggregate percentage from the 4 subjects having maximum marks. Dates are not fixed. Reasons for preferring this college was that it is one of the best food science college, also the qualifications of faculty were appropriate, the environment was healthy. I referred to the college and DU official website only, for the information .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because food industry is the most growing industry in the world in recent times. And surely it'll keep on evolving because food is the basic need and the taste and priority of people keeps on changing. Also I already had interest in learning about food Technology. Faculty student ratio is approximately 1:9. The qualification of faculty good but the teaching differs from teacher to teacher. Although most of them are supportive but it could be difficult at certain times. The term exams are not that difficult to pass if one has sufficient knowledge

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for placements after completing the course. Students have got placements into companies like nestle. Number of students getting placed is approximately 5-6 (not fixed). My plan after graduating is to go for higher studies that is Master of science in clinical dietetics and gain some experience in hospital first, I would also like to gain some industrial experience and simultaneously continue my own practice.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for our first year was about 23000 and approximately same for second and third year, excluding the hostel fees. I am currently pursuing the course. And there surely is some financial assistance and scholarships.

Campus Life

4

There are 2 fests conducted by the student's Union of our college, one is DJ Evening that happens at around October-November for one day and the major one is Quintessence which takes place in Jan-Feb and it a 2 day fest. Almost everything is available in the library. There are about 7-8 societies for different extra curricular activities. All the societies and the Union itself is run by the students only.

Hostel Facilities

3

Facilities are not that convenient, for example-rooms are 6 sharing (dormitory type) and it has fans and average sizes cupboards for each. Meal quality is average but sometimes not at all appropriate and menu is quite fine and keeps on changing monthly. Hostel registrations are done on the same day with admissions.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
