Entrance Preview

AIEEE and Punjab CET. Scored 1445 rank in Punjab CET .Opted for this college as I am from Jalandhar only and I can have good education and be at my home as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is not updated and i think it is same from many years. Code is as per Punjab Technical University Curriculum and should be updated.Curriculum is same which is from last 10 years. Now DAV is deemed university and thus I am not sure if the curriculum is different that PTU curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

I think college do not support internship. Until I was there in 2012 internship was not an option but I am not sure about current offerings.

Placement Experience

3

Placement is also average. College has tie up with Wipro , infosys which usually offers job on average of 120 every year for B.tech students. For rest of the students companies like SAP, Adobe, Microsoft has also offered jobs to some of students this year.

College Events

3.5

Several events are celebrated in college which incudes technical festivals, youth festivals which includes events like Mime events, bhangra, technical events. Students are involved in organising events are College is always front runners in all events at Punjab technical university levels.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is as per Punjab Technical University Norms. Fee structure per year is around 70k and if you are hostler there is addition cost of 20k. There is separate boys and girls hostels which are of two categories PG Hostel and UG hostel.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship option in which if a stundet secure first or second position in class, student is offered scholarship of around 1k for books. Loan facilities can be offered based on case to case basic and depends on management decision.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is good and secure. But it is more like school rules. Students are not allowed to use mobile phones in campus and there are strict rules and fines if anyone is not following. Labs are fully equipped and are good. College focus on additional activities as well like inter college debate competitions, GD's etc.

Exam Structure

The Course consists of 8 semester which includes last semester as training which can be industrial or any course completion. Each semester consists of 3 MST( Mid Semester tests) after every 2 months on average after which internal marks are decided.

Faculty

3

College faculty is average in terms of knowledge and the way the lectures are delivered . Faculty which includes placement officers, HOD are also average and tie up with companies for placement is improving now a days.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
