Course Curriculum Overview

to start with real life aspect preparation , for every coding subject we have a different platform which has different coding questions which consist of whatver can be asked in an interview and what you might need to stand out in a real life scenario we have PEL and PES classes which basically makes you industry ready by working on your vocation and your mannerism which are quite helpful too in terms of where improvment can be implemented , there can be lesser students per class difficulty of exams depends on course to course , generally as a rule of thumb writtern and theory subjects are easier as compared too coding and LAB subjects , but each type of courses can have 3-4 CA and one midterm and end term they will be codcuted consistently in a 14-15 week sem

Internships Opportunities

1

if you talk about internship i have very less knowledge but as for in campus internship u can actually get it in department of student welfare where you can get a job as an editor or video grapher but for the wokign job of cse you will have to go throught the usual route of honign ur skills and finding it with the help of linked in

Placement Experience

3

6th semester and onwards are eligible for campus placements there are over 3000 offers given in LPU last time , and comapnies varried from google microsoft to tcs the package offerred varry from course to course but it wouldnt be wrong to say that averagve of all lie somwhere near 7-5-8 lakhs for highest packages it's either AIML or Cloud computing with both being around 54 lakh if you are eligible for campus placement as in u have a good enough CGPA and you dont have any measure indiscipline against you then you have a 90% chance of getting placed my plans after degree may varry i can go anywhere from higher studies to placement to govt jobs but for now i will study as if i have to go for college placement

Fees and Financial Aid

the year wise fee is 1.2*2=2.4 lakh for non spelization btech cse course , this course will be 8 semester long where you will be required to pay the fee before beginning of the each semester there are many hidden charges , one them being 4000 exam charges which you will have to pay every single semester HOW MUCH I PAY i pay 90k per semester or 1.8lkh per year for my tution fee as i have 25% scolarship i got this through the LPU entrance exam of LPU NEST in CSE department if you opt for spelization courses your fees can vary anywhere from, 1.2 to 2 lakh for example u will be paying 1.9 lakh for AIML per semester my classmates may also be paying anwhere between 84k to 1.2 lakh as the highest scolarship LPU provides is 30% there are numerous scholarship aids ,you can either go for your board marks or JEE score or you can give the LPU sponserd exam that is LPU NEST

Campus Life

4

there are no months in particular for any events they are held through out the year and in a varied fashion for example the best event of this year was by coke studio which was held in feb whcih was a free concert for all students and it was quite an festivals and as i am writing this review on 23 novm we r having a book fair which had many famous author such as piyush mishra and what not in library almost all kinds of books are availavbe answering the obvious all course books are present in bulk and you can take them for upto a week then u have to return them, but there are many non course related books too not only that my fav section is the MANUSCRIPT section on 3rd floor of library which has books as old as 1400s all the classes have projectors if required and all kind of OS labs are available from mac to windows to linux sports are actually one of the strong suits of lpu even i joined boxing after coming here and boxing being a club activity is totally free which is one more good thing other than that most sports will cost you 2.5k per year if you want to play in their offical stadiums where as swimming will cost you 5k

Hostel Facilities

5

depending on whcih room you take you can avaik either of AC or cooler for summer and geasers are there in both rooms each students gets their own storage units which on luck can be small or big , they have seprated washroom and shower spaces so it is quite clean and the cleaners come quite regularly menu is normal quality different each day of week it changes best part is the breakast you can avail different menus depending on how much you pay for 50k per year you can have your own personalize menu hostel registration for first year is quite easy as they tell you when you join the college but its adviced if you are going to take hostel and mess anyways take it in earlier months as you can get it in 10k less as an LPU policy there are several localities where you can find PG to rent at quite an afforadable , places like LAW GATE , DEEP NAGAR , PHAGWARA AGI allt hese places have rooms which you can check out both online and after coming here

Admission

in the year 2023 when i went to apply for colleges i gave COMSAT JEE WBJEE and many other govt college exam and my jee percentile was 86 so i was nto going to get any good govt college hence i moved towards private colleges noida based colleges - these colleges like jaypee , golgotia they all have more or less same fee but have lesser infra and exposure not only that the sports aspect the college life of LPU is much more stronger hence i moved towards it when it came to choosing a final cllege you have to have paseed 12th to appear in LPU admission , after than you can get through from boards score or jee score or LPU NEST which their own sponsored exam

Faculty

well the ratio od faculty to student is not given anywhere but each classes have 60-75 students and depend on semeter you can have either 25-35 one hour class per week so you can estimate how many teachers are there my second sem ECE teacher Arora sir was an amazing teacher he was just what u expect a uni prof to be strict but helpul and he was gentle man through and through he will teach hard concepts with such beauty that at the end of it you will feel that you have understood eveyrthing there as to understand well its not that i didnt like any faculty but no one was bad enough to name drop them ig lpu keeps a continous check to not let any teacher be too sub par that they can be too flawed for non coding non lab subjects we have 3 CA one mid term one end term for LAB we have 4 mini lab tests , 1 mid term one end term for coding subjets we have 3 CA and one end term practical course curriculum is completely relevent

Night Life

2

there is no campus night life , specially for girls where depending on the time of year you have you go inside cmapus before 7 or 8 oclock although they can stay in library till 12 which is when it closes to be reopened next day all gym will close by 10 pm and some even before that , the cafeterias of diff places close at diff time but the biggest one closes at 10:30 and then only a canteen near bh3 names ZAIKA stays open which will be beneficial to know once u get into the college there are no hostel timing for guys but gaurds who are omnipresent in campus can ask you where u r goig and u rnot allowed to go in grounds after 10 pm in outside area , places like LAW GATE are actually crime prone so its actually better to not roam outside but to name famous places you can go to east wood village or to amritsar which will be less than 2 hours far

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
