Course Curriculum Overview

3

From my childhood i am interested in Tech sector .if we talk about the curriculum then it is good .it has job oriented programme.Mainly focused on the practical parts. When tecvher came inside the class he didn't even wait for students to settle they start teaching he/she only stops when the time is over. Some times it will be very boring. The frequency of exam is veryy veryy high i have atleast a CA every day.If we talk about difficulty level then i will say that if we study then nothing will be difficult.

Placement Experience

5

After 5th semester students are eligible for campus placement. All the service based companies are hiring form LPU in bulk quantity of students at lower packages like Tcs,accenturr, wipro and many more. Product based companies are also visiting the campus but they took very less quantity of students.Like amazon,Google,Microsoft, Amdocs,Adobe and many more. Around 70 percents students are getting placement offers from the university. My plan is to go abroad for the higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Actually i have applied for lpunest in first phase through which i get 30 percent scholarship as of now my fee is 98000 per semesters. And the examination fee is 4500 per semester. There are my friends who applied later and they got low percentage of scholarship.

Campus Life

3

Every month there will be fest. But my favourite one is One India Event which will held in January. There is also hackathons are held every month if anyone want to participate then he/she will register for that. In asian games more thank half of the hockey team is from LPU through this we can thin about the level of sports at LPU . Neeraj Chopra and Vinesh Phogats are also the alumni of LPU. One of my friend from senior class is also running a club which is named as LPU NSS which helps in event organizing in LPU.

Admission

I have applied for Viteee and i got vit vellore computer science and engineering in second category. After that i feel that that is too far far from my home. And from youtube i also knew that racism of north indians in south india. After that i have applied for Lpunest and i got 30 percent scholarship then i took admission in this college. I have also appeared for jee mains i scored around 92 percentile. But as i told that i am interested in computer science and engineering. At that rank i am getting civil engineering in lower nits. After clearing LPUNEST we don't have to do anything. LPU team will connect you and help you in admission process.

Faculty

5

When we join the university one mentor is assigned to 15-20 students. If we are facing any problem in university then it's his responsibility to solve that. Maths and Python faculty is good .I think they have a great experience in teaching sector.I didn't like the physics faculty because of the little bit language barrier actually he is from south India so he has different english accent. I didn't like the cse326 faculty because she didn't even care about the others she is only supporting the locals. We have 3 continuous tests in all subjects. 2 out of 3 is count while making the final result.1st Ca is the easiest one and rest of 2 are medium level.and we have a mid term and end term. Both are mainly MCQ.

Night Life

5

Nightlife is good in Lpu and it is also good around LPU generally i live in private rented pg in Law gate. Here nightlife is good . As fas as i know from my friends who live in hostel that libary opens till 12 am daily. Robo park is my favourite hangout place. For boys there is no restrictions of timing. Outside the university you can go to chandigarh and Amritsar and many more places.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
