Dislikes
- Some things are slower than usual. Like if you want a NOC for your internship then it requires multiple signs and visits to get the one document. It's like government things.
- Course structure that we are studying now is oudated actually it requires improvement. But the immediate batch after us (27 batch) are studying the course according to new curriculum. They focus more on practical skills now. This should be for us als
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is outdated as i said previously also. But we study all the basic subjects of chemical engineering. Name of the subjects i discussed above . But the problem is that it is outdated and focus less on developing the practical skills. But the course is relevant to us chemical engineers. All the basic subjects are discussed and are helpful. As per the practical skills are concerned we have to do a training and internships in summers and winters. I choose this course because of NIt Jalandhar firstly and also because of The scope of chemical engineering. The institute has taken the necessary steps to work on the areas of this curriculum. Institute has launched the new curriculum for the students which is a updated version. They deal more with practical skills and in labs also they use softwares to calculate the result and draw graphs etc of the result. Whereas we have to follow the traditional method of doing it like using the equipments and then calculation and drawing graph manually.
Internships Opportunities
Honeywell come for the role of chemical engineer trainee offering 30 k per month. It was 2 months summer internship They give project according to the companies plant and work available and according to the ongoing projects of the company Reliance come for 2 months summer internship offering chemical engineering trainee role offering 30 k per month including the bus fare to reach the destination and the accomodation also Jubilant and technip come for same role
Placement Experience
Our college Placements statistics are good. Companies visit the college frequently and take the students for internship and placement after taking online assessment and interview. Some companies have the CG barrier of 7 or 8 above. Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester onwards and for internship from 5th semester onwards This time for internship Honeywell came giving 30 k per month, jubilant, technip, reliance also came giving 30k per month including accomodation. For placement also these companies come or give ppo to interns offering 7 lakh per annum average pack Aarti industries, jindal steels , reliance come for placement offering maximum 14 lakh per annum highest package and 7 lakh per annum average package. All in all 97% students get placed out of all eligible students and some get double offers also from different companies. Every company give offers to students not on a rigid basis but they are flexible in taking up the students if they liked the basic skills of the students. I plan to get the summer internship from the companies visiting the college and will try to get ppo from them Also i want to get the placement from college only from the companies. I am also planning to give GATE exam also for the PSUs also side by side

Admission
I have given the JEE mains after my 12 th standard. After that I Appeared for Advanced also but didn't make it to there. I wanted to study in IIT ROPAR after clearing JEE ADVANCED but didn't make it there as JEE ADVANCED was the main eligibility. I couldn't apply to there as JEE ADVANCED was not cleared. Then in the same year I was eligible to apply for NITs as my JEE MAIN was clear. I applied to 2 different NITs NIT JALANDHAR all branches and NIT HAMIRPUR only top 4-5 branches like electrical, Cse, IT ,etc I wanted a college which is near to my house. I Live in Jalandhar and NIT Jalandhar is just 1 km away from my house. So I gave priority to NITJ only and eventually get the seat here. The admission process for our college and all NITs goes like this 1. Give JEE MAINS exam which covers +1 and +2 PCM only. The pattern of this exam is known to everyone like 300 marks and 3 hours 100 marks 1 hr and 25 marks for each subject. 2. After getting the score card you take part in Counselling session. There are 6 rounds of counselling in Jossa and 2 rounds of CSAB counselling+ 2 special rounds also. 3. You fill in the information and the choices of your college. One first number your first priority of college and list goes on 4. After completion of every round you get the result if you got the seat or not and you got three options accept the seat as it is, cancel the seat and third is to accept the seat and look for further moderation. 5. After the completion of counselling it is in your hands if you want to accept your final seat or not. 6.After the seat acceptance there is physical verification in the college where you go physically and verify your documents there in college. Hostel students confirm their hostels and stay there before the starting of classes. Three days were given to us and we can come any day. But this year the specific days were allotted to every student and they have to come to the college on that specific day only and buses were going to pick.
Faculty
The faculty members of the college are of mixed attitudes. Some like teaching but if they are not strict then student's mess with them and teacher's have to be strict. They guide, they help and they solve the doubts if you behave with them. Faculty to student ratio is 1:70. The best faculty according to me is Amit Dhurv Sir. He is best according to me as he is approachable and solves the doubt accordingly. As i am in chemical engineering branch, the course structure is according to it. We study the basic chemical engineering subjects like fluid mechanics, mass transfer, heat transfer, chemical process calculation, chemical reaction engineering, chemical technology, process engineering economics. Teachers teach the subjects not in depth except 1 or 2. We have credits for every subject. 4 credit subjects for important subjects and 3 credit subjects also. Labs are also there of 1 or 2 credits for practicals We have 2 exams in 1 semester. One is Mid term examination of 30 marks and 2nd is End semester examination of 50 marks. We have class tests or quiz of 10 marks assignment for 5 marks class performance for 5 marks which is entirely dependent on the teacher. Which makes up to total 100 marks We get grades according to the marks 90-100- S grade (highest grade) 80-89- A grade 70-79- B grade 60-69- C grade 50-59-D grade 40-49-E grade less than 40 - U grade( student is fail) W grade for detained students having attendance less than 75 % The exam paper is designed in such a way that an average student is also able to solve that in order to get passing marks atlest. It contains questions of all difficulties levels. On an average out of 85 students if course is easy 2-3 students fail and 1 detained if course is difficult then 15-20 students fail in a exam
Night Life
