Remarks

I chose this college because of its better placements and quality education. Talking about the admission procedure, I got admitted to the college based on my JEE Mains rank. I took part in the online counselling conducted by WBJEE for the allocation of JEE Mains seat in Private Colleges in West Bengal. The year in which I got the allocation in the college there were two rounds of counselling and I got this college in the second round. I was called to the college on 2nd November 2020 to pay the fees and take admission. Though the option for taking the admission online was also available, I preferred to go to the college physically because I wanted to see the college. The campus of the college is beautiful though not so big but it offers everything that its students need. The main reason why I preferred this college over others was that it ranked 2nd in the colleges of Techno group in West Bengal. I searched for NSEC on Collegedunia itself and found some very helpful reviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because of my interest in the field of computers and the software industry. I am not aware of the correct figure but the faculty: student ratio is good enough because whenever a student needs any help teacher are always available to help and assist them. All the teacher that is professors is highly educated holding PhD degrees and at least a Master's degree in their subjects. I got admitted to the college during the Covid pandemic so the curriculum was affected but our college managed it efficiently and we are assuming to graduate at the correct time as if there was no effect on studies due to the pandemic. Moreover, teachers taught all the concepts so well that passing the term exams became very easy.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I am not aware of any such offers made by our college but I know that our college offers many platforms to students to showcase their talent and ideas from where they can achieve success. For example, Hult Prize is an international event for young entrepreneurs and in that event, NSEC holds great respect and every year there's at least one team from our college who qualify for the regionals.

Placement Experience

4.5

The overall placements of the college are good. The placements of the ECE department of the college is extraordinarily better than many of the private colleges in West Bengal. The placement of all other departments of the college is somewhat better than many government colleges in West Bengal. Companies like Cognizant, TCS, HCL, Byjus, IBM, Chegg and many other tech companies (A total of 90+ companies including Tech and Non-Tech which visited this year) are major recruiters of our college students. The highest package offered was 10 LPA with an average of 4.5 LPA. A total of 72% of the eligible students got placed this year. I have planned to work as a software engineer in the top Tech giants after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the college is somewhat affordable when compared to other private colleges. Many private colleges are famous for their fees structure some because of their high fees while some due to their low fees. NSEC has a fee structure in a manner that at the end of 4 years it would sum up to 393000 excluding the examination fees, university registration and some other overhead expenses (which include hostels as well because NSEC does not have a hostel facility). As far as my knowledge there is no Scholarship or financial assistance available for the students. I am currently in the first year of my course so there's a time when I would be able to review the campus placements or internships with the stipend and packages. Currently, all in all, NSEC is an affordable college as many banks sanction loans because of its better rank in NIRF ranking which is in the band of 300.

Campus Life

4.5

I got admitted to the college in the Covid pandemic so I am not fortunate enough to live in campus life in NSEC so I cannot comment on the Campus life. Talking about the books and journals present in the library, there is plenty of book in the library for everything rather it is exam-related book or books for skill-building. I went to college to issue books for my first as well as the second semester and got great books to pass my semester exams with flying colours. The classrooms are equipped with the necessary equipment that teachers and student would require in their courses such as projectors, computers, printers and many others. Regarding sports, I don't think there is any facility available. Extracurricular activities include protractor's events, fests organized by some departments and some other competitions like the Hult prize, photography, etc. Rotaract club is a social group that is active in college, Phoenix is a tech club in the college and many other clubs.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
