Remarks

The good aspect of the college is its library. That's fully equipped, a lot of books on every discipline and very spacious. The bad thing that got me is that it doesn't have a very good canteen. The admission process is likely to start once the registration forms for UG admissions are out. Normally they are out in June & after class 12th board exams. But in this Pandemic time. God knows. I prefer this college over others because the labs here contains maximum no. Of samples and I never saw any shortage of anything. I mean it was never the case that 3 or 5 students have to work with one single apparatus. The other reason for choosing this college is the library. The books are never short for anyone. I scrolled du.ac.in and kirorimalcollege.com a lot while taking admission here. & now I'm passing out amid this Pandemic, I'm gonna miss my college life.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Zoology honours because I was very much interested in studying the biological aspects & concepts at the molecular level. And my decision was right.. I've gained a lot of knowledge & grabbed AIR 61 in IIT JAM this year. The faculty: student ratio is pretty much great. There is no such specific value but one subject was taught by 2 - 4 professors in each semester. What more a student may need. The teaching method is awesome. Specially Gauri ma'am, Anita ma'am, Nidhi ma'am & Vikas sir. If I would become a teacher in future; I'd surely use their way of teaching. They simplified the mechanism in class up to the level that it seemed to be a cakewalk to learn those complex biological processes. All the faculties here are PhD holders in their respective disciplines. They are recognised at the global level. Just Google the name of Anita ma'am. Term exams occur twice a year. One in December and the other in May. The exam questions are a bit lengthy, but easy to pass.

Placement Experience

0.5

I'm a Life Sciences student. We don't get any placements right after the UG. It's a non professional course; it does not provide any placements. If you take any life sciences course. Don't hope for a job right after the completion of the course. I've heard that B.Com students get placed right after their UG. I'm planning to do MSc in Biotechnology from IIT. Right after that, I'd enrol for a PhD. Then I would go into research or I'd become a professor somewhere.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my course was very affordable for me. It is around 15000 for a year. Yes, the year I took admission I paid 13000 for 1st year. It increased afterwards. There are no other charges than the one time yearly fees. Yes, you've to pay extra when you've to reappear or you've failed in any semester examination. You can always give the exam next year. As I was a dropper I wasn't eligible for any scholarship. But there was a scholarship for the students who directly took admission after their 12th. Its name is INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP. It gave you around 1 lakh rupees a year if you score more %age than their merit + you score more than 7 GPA in your 1st semester.

Campus Life

5

Renaissance is the annual fest of the college that occurs in the month of February every year. The founders day of the college is also celebrated on the 1st of February. The books are easily available in the library. The classification in the shelves of each particular section & subject is very nicely done. Its very easy to locate your particular book of need. There's a large stadium in the back of the college with basketball court, cricket, boxing, Table tennis & boxing. There are a lot of social & cultural club on the campus. Names & work of some are as following. Prayas - helps the blind. NCC- Cadet Cops The Round Table - Grooming & mass communication & there are many more I don't remember right now.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
