Remarks
IT was a great learning experience for me. I could not be what I am without what I learned in the college.
Entrance Preview
CAT. The CAT scores were not published during those years. I chose IIMC over IIMB because I was interested in pursing MBA in finance. Based on my reasearch and feedback from past alumni I came to a conculsion that IIMC was better than IIMB for pursing finance related courses and jobs.
Course Curriculum Overview
Was very good and up-to-date with recent happenings in the industry. Case studies were very relevant. There were multiple evaluation criteria for each course which led to students learning courses from multiple aspects beyond rote learning. There was a lot of emphasis on research and we got the opportunity to work with few industry houses for learning and getting data for some of our research.
Internships Opportunities
Yes all students got summer-internship with a wide variety of industry firms covering all sectors. During my years the spinend were good and were more than sufficent to cover internship expenses plus save a little as well.
Placement Experience
We had 100% placement. All students were placed in firms like Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, ITC, HUL, Microsoft, Infosys, ICICI, Wipro, Satyam, Cognizant, Bank of America, Indus Valley Partners, MArico, Dabur, British Gas, Temasek holdings, and many more.
College Events
The cultural and management festivals in IIMC were v large and it usually had participation from other premier colleges from India. It usually run for 2-3 days where the activities included business/management competitions, dramatics/cultural competitions, musical nights, inter-hostel competitions etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was expensive. However, given the very high probablity of landing a very good corporate job with good earnings, most banks were willing to give student loans for covering the college fees and hostel expenses. One could easily repay the loan in 2-3 years after completing the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail any scholarship. However there is schorlarship available in means cum merit basis. aNd also as mentioned above most banks are willing to give education loans to cover the fees and hostel living expenses.
Campus Life
We used to find time for weekend extra-curricular activies which involved sports, cultural, linguistic, artistic and other similar clubs. There were dorm parties as well but once in a month or so. One could not find more diverse base of students in any other college. The students were from almost all the states of india, culture, language, religion, political, economic status etc. The gender ratio was skewed towards males.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were very good, the staff was very polite, hard working. They always kept the hostel premises, rooms and facilities clean and in good condition. The mess food was good and hygenic. There were always alteast two options to choose from dur
Alumni/Alumna
Its a networking paradise for people who like to network. All students and alumnis are helpful and willing to help for any relevant experience.
Exam Structure
It was always a hectic day. The classes started from 7. 30am and could continue till 8-9pm on most days. The amount of assignments, project works, presentations, case studies etc always kept us busy. We hardly had a low activity day. Combine this with 12
