Remarks

Maitreyi College is a women's college in the South Campus of Delhi University and is a quite renowned college of DU. It is ranked 35th by NIRF in 2020. It provides various courses in the fields of Arts and Humanities, Science and Commerce. The admission process is very simple and easy. Admissions are offered based on the guidelines of Delhi University. I choose this college because it is quite affordable as well as provides amazing exposure and learning experience and also has the very beautiful infrastructure, gardens, and library to is very amazing.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because I want to clear UPSC/CIVIL SERVICES EXAM and the syllabus or the course structure provided by the college is quite helpful for the preparation of UPSC. The faculty-student ratio is good and the faculty members are brilliant, well qualified, and very supportive. They are very experienced and provide a great learning experience through interactions and a problem-solving approach. Exams are held at the end of each semester but professors take tests, assignments, and presentations from the students to assess their performance. Exams are neither very difficult nor very easy, if one has read and prepared they are able to secure good marks.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college placement cell also provides internship opportunities to the students through Envision3.0, the job and internship fair of Maitreyi College. The recruiters in 2021 were BAJAJ CAPITALS, THE POLICY TIMES, NEWZERA, etc. The stipend is performance-based.

Placement Experience

4

The Placement Cell of the college is very active. Companies like WIPRO, CVENT, PWC have visited the campus for mass recruitment. The highest package offered was around 3-4 lakhs per annum and the lowest being 1-2 lakhs per annum. Around 50% of students get placed. Internship programs are also provided and the college also has an entrepreneur cell (ENACTUS MAITREYI) for emerging entrepreneurs and to support their entrepreneur projects.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college's fee structure is very affordable and the cost to study here is worth every penny. My fees are less than 7k and after studying here, I think it is less for such a quality education. The scholarship is provided to students under the SC/ST welfare scheme of the Delhi Government.

Campus Life

4.5

The infrastructure of the college is one of the best in the entire Delhi University. The classes are well ventilated and properly cleaned, the corridors as well are well maintained, the gardens are mesmerizing, and there around four computer labs. The college hostel is under construction. The library facility is amazing, it has 2 floors and has various books on different subjects and also has wifi and printing option for students as well as have computers. The college is also equipped with sports facilities and has a huge sports ground. Annual Fest is organized every year in the months of February-March and various cultural activities are also held throughout the year. The college has various societies like GALORE (fashion society), TRENCHANT(English debating society), etc for students which are managed by students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

I specifically chose Economics and history to study because I had an interest in both. Economics is pretty self explanatory, learning about how the world economy works is interesting. History on the other hand is interesting because you get to know how civilization and society developed.

German course has high demands and in germany there are relevant chances that I can get good paying jobs,I would say that the teachers are really nice, if you study well they will help you alot and are really appreciable, I would say there are none to improve because it's kinda easy to study the subject on your own, the difficulty of exams are what it should be like, it's good it's great, to make you a better person and student, and the time duration they give is enough to solve each and every exams
