Jadavpur University, as we all know it, is a very reputed university in our country and many aspire to get a chance to study here. As I am from the Information Technology engineering department, I only know about the WBJEE. I have no idea about other admission procedures as in honours or other streams, but one thing that I am sure of is that only the best of the bests study and teach here and overall, it's an amazing experience.

I chose to study IT ENGINEERING as I am mostly into computers and software since a very young age and it has fascinated me for a long. The faculty here is highly qualified for the subjects they teach and are amazing individuals. There is only a slight problem, which is, the engineering department Needs staff with better English speaking capabilities, as there are teachers who teach in Bengali, and there are students who have a hard time understanding it. Apart from this, there exist only positive remarks about the faculty. The teachers take class tests very often and prepare the students for the term exams very well. Due to the present covid situation, the first two terms are being held of 3 months each, but the rest are of 6 months. It is a great experience studying here with amazing teachers.

The university provides great opportunities for internships in big companies in order to prepare the students for their upcoming working life. The students are handed over projects to work upon and those help them get a real, hands on idea about the industry. For the students, it is a great learning opportunity and it comes with its own perks as the internships are mostly paid internships and they get the deserving reward for the job they do. So, even in terms of internships, Jadavpur University bags the top part in the educational sector.

Jadavpur University's placements are one of the main reasons why students want to take admission here. It is one of the best in the country. The placement percentage is nearly always 95 to 100 percent. And the packages received is just great. Companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft and many many more come and hire students. The average package of the IT ENGINEERING department itself was 15 LPA this year, with a minimum of 11 LPA. And that is the MINIMUM! So I guess it is pretty much clear how great the placements are here.

The fee structure of the university is very very cheap. Apart from IT Engineering, all other engineering departments has a fee structure where under 6k, you complete all 4 years of the bachelor degree. The IT engineering department's fee structure is comparatively more but is still way less than other universities or colleges. Also, there are lots of scholarships provided to the students based on their family income and merit. The university also provides financial assistance to the deserving. Talking about the placements, it is one of the best. Companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft and many many more come and hire students for their companies. The placement is one of the main reasons why people prefer Jadavpur University.

Campus life at Jadavpur University is beyond words. It is just not possible to put it down in writing how campus life is! It's like, THE BEST! Nothing, I repeat, nothing can be better. Be it social groups, or clubs, or the events, or the fests or the Co-curricular activities, you name it! The amenities, the libraries! Every single thing about the campus is just 12 out of 10.

The WBJEE is conducted for admission into the engineering department. I can't talk about other courses such as honours, but I certainly can say that the filtration for admission and the criteria set up for the admission is very well structured.
