XLRI being the oldest b school in India has the strongest alumni network. The strong alumni network helps the students get into the best of the companies with handsome salaries. The interview was held in the Feb-march and the process included 2 rounds - GD and WAT, and a Personal Interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty to student ratio is around 1:4. XLRI is known in South Asia for its flagship course in human resource management. The CHROs of the top companies come from this elite college. There are 6 terms and a 2 months internship in between the third and the fourth term.
Internships Opportunities
Bosch, L&T, AT Kearney, BCG, Bain, Accenture Strategy, Colgate Palmolive, coca cola, PepsiCo, ITC, Vedanta, RBS, ICICI, Amazon, Flipkart, Walmart, Searce, etc are the few companies which come to the college for offering the best of the managerial roles.
Placement Experience
The summer internship happens for the first year students usually in August. The average stipend is above 1.2lakh per month. The college has a record of getting the maximum PPOs. The final placements for those who don't convert the PPIs happen in February. The latest average CTC was 25.2LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is on par with the top 5 b schools in India. In my personal experience, I have heard from my friends in IIM C and B that the infrastructure at XLRI is better than most of the IIMs. The fees were not increased in the year affected by COVID.
Campus Life
The campus in Jamshedpur campus is lush green. Every single college team which come to XL during the cultural and sports fests agree to the fact that the infrastructure of XLRI is the best among all bschools in India. The sports facilities are sufficient. There are committees for every hobby and intact the campus is totally student run.
Hostel Facilities
All rooms are single rooms. The senior and junior batch are in different hostels but the students are free to go to each others rooms but there is segregation. The food is good and healthy. None of the rooms are air conditioned.
Interview Experience
The topics of GD abstractly focused on the different aspects and issues in the Human resources industry. The interview questions were focused on the UG subject matter and the real world application of those subject matters. I used the IMS study material to prepare for the exam and the interview processes.
