The course curriculum is one of the best and also the toughest in the country. It is in line to the best IIMs that is IIM Ahemadabad and IIM Banglore. The course is divided into 6 trimester with an option to do 5th trimester in foreign university as student exchange. XLRI is renowned for its HRM program throughout the world.

Placement in XLRI are the best in class. The institute holds record of 100% placement for every batch. As of now, the current Average package is 23 lpa while the median is 22 lpa. XLRI, even in the current downturn of economic conditions in the country, holds the record of fastest internship placements for a batch of 360 students in less than 40 hours. The average stipend is 2.4 lacs for the internship.

The process begins with qualifying the entrance exam that is XAT, generally scheduled in first week on January every year, followed by a cut off based on past academic scores and XAT score (lies around 96%ile), post which interview calls are offered which are scheduled throughout in the month of March. After which final offers are rolled out.

The faculty in XLRI are best in their field. Every professor has fellowship from either the best IIMs or the best universities abroad including INSEAD, Wharton etc. Almost all the faculties have research papers and books published by them which are being taught in other MBA colleges.
