I took KCET (Karnataka CET), Score : 115/180, Rank 2694 in engineering . Reason to opt SJCE is because its top 4 engineering college in Karnataka.

Courses are well organised into 8 semesters. The first two semesters include subjects of all the branches which is kind of introduction to all branches and their scope. VTU course syllabus must be updated because they are outdated and industries demand grip over current or trending technologies.

The college does not provide internship but for our batch Microsoft visited our campus and 3 students were selected for 2-month internship. Stipend was around Rs 20,000/-. Students were expected to learn new technologies like Azure and develop new applications.

Placement and job opportunities are excellent in SJCE. We have around 80-100 companies coming to recruit students from various branches. Companies are divided into 3 categories Mass, Core and Dream based on salary and profile of the job. Company Name Avaya, CTC provided 13 Lpa.

Fee structure is quiet feasible. Government aided seat fees is about 30,000 and SNQ seat fees is about 15,000. SNQ fees do not include tuition fees. Fees is divided into two categories Tuition fees 15000, Other fees 15000.

I have not taken any loan or scholarship but loan can be applied in our college partnered bank Punjab national bank, its branch is in campus itself, scholarships include ePass, MHRD etc.

Campus life in SJCE is very colourful. Gender ratio is neutral in almost all the branches. There is no uniform. There is a lot of support given to extracurricular activities like students are encouraged to take up projects or make websites, apps for college.

Hostel facilities and mess food is good and hygienic. Boys hostel has 4 blocks. there are different size rooms according to which 3 or 4 students share the room. Bathroom and toilet are cleaned often. Mess food is quiet good and the best thing is there is no limit to food or milk for a student, so he or she can eat in an adequate quantity.

Alumni network is quiet important because it helps you in various ways like review of company in which senior works, tips and tricks to crack particular exam etc. Alumni network in SJCE is good, seniors are often called to college to interact and guide their juniors. Also seniors provide a lot of information during the placement activities.

Exams and labs are quiet hectic. There is no relaxation in the number of exams. There are 3 internals which are compulsory and 2 other events, events may be quiz or assignment or mini projects. All these events are calculated to 50 and another 50 is from the semester end examination. Labs are of 3 hour duration and there will be 2 lab tests, one after the first internal and another after the second internal.

Faculty in Computer Science are highly qualified. Teachers are allocated subjects according to their specialisation. Most of the teachers have Mtech degree and some of them have PhD degree. There is a mixture of young and experienced teachers. Most of the teachers are aware of current technologies and are very supportive. Most of them have published technical papers at national and international level.
