Being an Neet aspirant I failed to get a seat in the medical after taking a year drop and the next option that left for me was engineering.soo bcz of Neet my cet didn't went good and didn't get good ranking. Apart from this college the currently i am pursuing u have applied for 3 other colleges one is Sahyadri, st.joseph,and mite.due to ranking difference I couldn't get seat in those colleges. Those three college was the most preferred to me and Canara was an extra option for me but unfortunately I got seat here in all the three rounds that made me feel so disappointing. Why I think the rest 3 colleges are better then Canara is because of the location the college located and the locality and compared to Canara the other three colleges had good placements and the students that come to those three colleges have a good mindset and would have helped me to improvise myself but here in this college we will find 60-70% of gsb students and students from villages who r rather worried about the future developing changes in the world or knowledge on the technical thing or the technology they r just focused on clearing the subject of the exams that's it .

I chose to join this college because of the suggestions from lot of people. And also when I visited I liked how peaceful it was and also greenary everywhere. The admission process consists of panel where you have to visit a d fill the form and head to front office for payments. Everyone is eligible, that's not the problem.

Canara engineering college- experience summarized.

Likes

The college is pretty good to be honest. The faculties are really friendly. The average age gap is also pretty less. So I believe students and lectiurers can connect very well. They will guide you to the right direction.

Dislikes

The campus lacks a color theme, and is poorly structured.
There is less bus facility. There is barely 1 bus for every 2-3 hours. Auto charge is too expensive otherwise.

Admission:

I didn't choose this college. The CET examination chose me and put me to this college, which is according to the ranks obtained by me writing the CET examination. Keep a decent rank, and you are eligible to get this college. You can also try admission through management fee payment.

My dream college was sahyadri but unfortunately I couldn't join there as my KCET rank was not good . I got 65k rank so I got my second preference that was Canara. The admission process of the college is comparatively good.

The student are very friendly and are always ready to learn something new.

Dislikes

Theres not enough exposure that we will get. We do get exposure but not in the same manner as other colleges do
The college is located in very remote area. You dont have that easy access through buses.

Admission:

I had applied for AJIET but opted out cause of fees. And then i had applied for seating through KCET procedure. And got seated in CEC. The admission process is simple you just need to have all the important documents required for your admission and rest all is smooth. Most of the students preferred by coming through KCET as it reduced the fees and it is good. There is different cutoffs for different branches and courses.

Teaching staffs are very qualified and have good knowledge about the subject. And have good infrastructure.
There are many different happening throughout the years and there are clubs and counseling services.

Dislikes

Inefficient administration: slow processing of student request.

Admission:

The Eligibility of the course in not that high. I got in through the management seat. The fees difference of management and CET was not that much at my time. There where exams happening frequently and they difficulty level i would say will be medium.

The fee per year for Computer science engineering is INR 100,000 at the CEC, Mangalore. The minimum qualification for admission for BE is a pass in the 2nd PUC or 10 +2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Electronics as optional subjects in place of Chemistry.40% marks in qualifying examination in case of *SC, ST, Category 1 & OBC Category candidates. The relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka candidates belonging to the SC, ST & Cat-I, and OBC. The above rules shall also be applicable to the candidates seeking admission under Management Quota.

You can apply for direct admission to Canara Engineering College under Management Quota. However, the seats left for Management Quota have higher fee structure in comparison to the General seat.
