Remarks
IIM Trichy is one of the most emerging IIM among the new batch of IIMs. It is the only institute with a CFA certified course curriculum and it has one of the best world-class infrastructures. The Learning Resource Centre(LRC) is one of the biggest in Asia and is a place to chill and read after the hectic schedule. You may find here every type of book you want. Sports facilities here are also very good as compared to other IIMs, They also have Gym, a huge badminton court, a Swimming pool, a Basketball court and what not and since I want to make my career in finance and IIM Trichy is known for Finance so these were some of the reason why I preferred this college over others. Coming to the admission process, IIM Trichy has a minimum requirement of 95%ile in CAT for general candidates to get admission. After that shortlisted candidate has to appear for CAP interviews which are conducted commonly for all the new IIMs. They have a written ability test known as WAT followed by a PI.
Course Curriculum Overview
PGPM is the flagship course of IIM Trichy and was my first choice due to the opportunities it has to offer after the competition, The program is divided into six terms out of which three terms are in the first year and three terms in the second year. Students have to select the elective course in the final year via bidding. Bidding credits are available as per the availability in that course and our grades while the curriculum is the same for everyone in the first year. The college has excellent faculty members. Most of them have completed their PhD from the reputed institutes in India and abroad as well. They also have great teaching experience and they are experts in their domain. Teaching methodology depends and differs on the faculty. Case discussion, class polls, individual and group assignments, quizzes, surprises quizzes in class are some of the method used. Each term has two exams midterms and end terms. Relative grading practice is followed to allocate grades.
Internships Opportunities
All the students are placed unless the ones who voluntarily ops out. Most of the offers are made from sales and marketing, finance and operations. The average stipend is above 80,000 and the highest stipend is 2,00,000.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from term 5. Almost all the students are placed by the college unless one voluntarily opts out. The First 50% of the batch gets placed very quickly with very good offers and it decreases slowly. Opportunities in all the domains are provided and the average CTC stands at around 15 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for 2 years are 18 lakhs. There has been a fee hike during this year Fees includes hostel and mess fees also so extra expenses aren't very much. One good practice followed by our college is by rewarding the best performers of the batch with a scholarship. The top 20 students of the batch are included in the Director's merit list and are given monetary amount ranging from 50000 to 3.5 lakhs depending on the rank and there are many more scholarships available. Education loans are easily available we have an SBI bank branch located on our campus only. This year interest rates were 6.75%p.a
Campus Life
Let me start with the Learning Resource Centre which is one of the biggest in Asia and is a place where you can read after your hectic schedule. Almost all types of books are available. Comfortable couches and sofas are available to lie down and chill, read, etc. Classrooms are built-in Harvard style which facilitates good eye contact with everyone. We have Gym, swimming pool, a huge badminton court, basketball court, sports complex and what not. Dhruva is the annual fest of IIM Trichy and Sangram is the flagship sports event conducted by all the IIMs of South. Several committees/Clubs focus on enhancing and developing the soft skills and technical skills of students. IIM Trichy has a marketing club, literature club matrix club, SigmaEta club, Arthaniti club, Rangmanch, Culcomm, Sports committee and many more. These clubs and committees organize various events and fests throughout an academic year.
Hostel Facilities
Individually Air-conditioned rooms are allotted to students. The infrastructure of the hostel was very good with purified drinking water, spacious rooms, etc. The Mess menu is managed by the mess committee and covers cuisines of different types. Food quality is very good as compared to what one usually gets in hostels. Fees include everything hostel fees, mess charges, tuition fees, etc.

Interview Experience
CAP has a WAT and PI of shortlisted candidates for final selection. Usually, WAT has a time limit of 15-20 minutes. The topic ranges from anything related to current affairs to topics that test your perspective along with knowledge. My topic was GDP vs Human development index. Interviews are basically to know about you as a person and are the most important component for final selection. It involves personal questions, academic/technical questions from what you have studied in the past and even current affairs.
