Remarks

It's one of the best colleges in India if you consider ROI (Return On Investment). Leaving aside its rank is within the top 20 colleges in NIRF ranking, it's known for its research scope and a wide alumni base. The placements are no doubt fantastic. If you are missing out on the top 5 IITs and a few top NITs I think this should your choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

I can say for my department Production Engineering course curriculum is fine. We are taught a lot of blended topics ranging from core mechanical to management and also subjects like statistics, Operation Research which can be used in the analytics domain. Facilities are fine and well co-operative.

Internships Opportunities

I got an internship at IIT kgp to work on a project of material science for this summer.

Placement Experience

Placement and job opportunity are really good. Many of our alumni are working in top MNCs be it Royal Enfield, Mercedes, PwC, ZS, Delloite, KPMG, etc. You name it, we have it. As I mentioned earlier, our college is well established since before Independence so we do have a wide base of alumni. The strong network between the current students and alumni is a prime reason for such a good placements.

College Events

Fests include mainly the big 3. have our tech fest Srijan. Its a gala event, there are participations from all over kolkata colleges and also IIT kgp. Then comes Cultural fest Sanskriti. It's a 9 days fest, one of the largest cultural fest in Kolkata. It's a big event. All the student just waits for the month of March. Apart from these we have E-summit and also couple of fest organized by different clubs and societies.

Campus Life

Infrastructure is good. We have Asia's one of the largest library in our campus. We have playground in our main campus. And also a CAB maintained cricket ground in our salt lake campus. Labs are fine. WiFi is there in the whole campus.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
