Remarks
The admission process in 2019 was really good. It's one of the best and prestigious colleges in India and Delhi University, has an amazing arts program. The environment is welcoming and the education is excellent. I didn't use any website or blogs for making a choice regarding the selection of universities. In semester 1, the students are required to take Environmental science and sem 2 requires us to take English communication as an advanced level course. Both of them last for 6 months and finish by 1st year. By the time we are in sem 3, we are provided with SEC which is a skill enhancement course and one has a variety of subjects to choose from. Also, LSR follows a very strict policy of assignment submission. Attendance is Veryyy strictly marked and sometimes even honest reasons don't seem to convince the professors enough. All in all, there will always be even in my personal opinion, very fierce competition from every student. So, choosing the right friend over another is like walking on cracked eggshells. Managing societies and at the same time meeting professors' expectations could be very exhausting. All in all, it provides a highly dynamic experience to all its elsas!
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to have a wider overview of subjects and not specializing in just one core subject. the teaching method is okay and not a new sort of methodology is utilized. the term exams are not that difficult to manage and the questions being asked are quite general in nature. one can easily pass without many worries.
Placement Experience
I don't have a lot of experience with the placement process, but as far as I know the placement and packages are really good for commerce/economics, after that the biggest set of placements happens in the English department. Final year students are allowed to sit for placements and are often placed in good companies like KPMG, E&Y, Deloitte, GENPACT, among others.
College Events
The annual fests TARANG is the most awaited event throughout the year. each department also holds an annual meet for their respective students. also, the events such as Kala, Noor, nexus organized by the national service scheme are one of the most fun filled fests. the library is one of the knowledgeable places one could visit inside the campus. there is a reference room as well which remains open till 8 p.m. and the best part is that it's fully air-conditioned. further, all classrooms have projectors installed inside them to enhance the teaching-learning process. there are a bunch of societies like Debsoc, Abhivyakti, Prakriti, NCC, National Sports Organization, Placement Cell, MUNSOC, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There are a number of freeships and scholarships that are provided by LSR for the economically backward students. even fundraising activities are quite popular throughout the college. Hostel Facilities
I stayed in a rented room in GK1 and then at Amar Colony. the landlords at GK1 were quite greedy and they harrassed me since I was a novice in the city. they charged hefty amounts of money in the form of rent and even after vacating their premises, they didn't return my money to me. so, I would like to advice all the freshers to not rent that N block house.
Admission
no, i didn't have to face any group discussion, interview, or written test for the admission as it was a merit based admission process. However, institutions like St. Stephens do conduct interviews for their students.
