Remarks
I checked the course curriculum and the placement report. Because these two were my prime focus while shortlisting the college. And both were good in this particular institute compared to the other institutes. The new campus, campus life, international relations, corporate relations also attracted me a lot. I also compromise with the fee paid (2,40,000) in IIM Nagpur, since I received a call after taking admission there, I also received admit from the University of Colorado, USA in MS Transportation Engineering. But due to COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't go there, and this institute was the best option in my hand.
Course Curriculum Overview
During the first year, students are exposed to basic concepts in the areas of marketing, finance, operations, quantitative methods, strategy, business communication through the core courses. These lay the foundations for all the functional areas of management and help the students develop an intricate understanding of the different facets involved. In the second year, students chose from a range of electives to concentrate on functional areas of their interest. The areas offered at present are finance, operations, marketing, HR, strategy, and general management.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our institute offers on-campus summer internships, and if students want to apply off-campus then they can also choose that option. The prominent recruiter is Deloitte, Cognizant, ICICI, etc, and the roles offer in various internships are Sales & marketing, finance, operations, IT and Analytics, general management, Product development etc.
Placement Experience
The institute secured 100 percentage Summer and final placements. The average placement, median placement, highest package domestic, highest package international were 15.2 lakhs, 14.78 lakhs, 28.12 lakhs, 46 lakhs respectively for the batch of 2018-20.
Fees and Financial Aid
Overall PGP fee is 1420400, and the hostel fee is 36000. This fee is not affordable for a student who belongs to a middle-class family. But students can avail themselves of the education loan at a very low-interest rate and a repayment period of up to 18 years. Procurement and prepayment of loans are made by mutual agreement between the students and the bank.
Campus Life
It is a residential course but we haven't got the opportunity to go to campus due to COVID19. There are clubs and committees. We are surely lacking peer learning due to the online mode but trying our best to make the most out of it.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel accommodation is a single room with an attached bathroom for all the students. There is a common mess for girls and boys and also Canteens and Amul Parlor. Rooms are well furnished and equipped with a centralized cooling system.
Interview Experience
IIM Raipur is part of the Common Admission Process (CAP). Candidates for the CAP process are shortlisted based upon the CAT Score. The Admission for this program follows 2 stages which are shortlisting candidates for Personal appearance and final selection. The selection of candidates is based upon a final composite score.
