Remarks

College management is absolutely fine there are variety of teachers which are good and some are bad also, not to mention names. Overall the college is above moderate.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for MHT CET 2013 and got 109 marks. Since i m a category student I got admission in NT2 category. Admission is strictly based on marks. There is no interview process. Each year admission is given on the basis of merit list which is prepared on the basis of your rank in AIEEE or MHT CET exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course according to me is not research focused as more focus is given on lectures and theory examinations conducted by mumbai university. Though there are facilities for research but not much people are involved teachers just want you to attend lectures and study theory.

Internships Opportunities

Various companies visit SPIT each year for internships. Barclays,Credit Suissse are two of the companies for which every student is crazy about as they provide highly paid internships. Barclays gives approximately 60k-65k per month. Each year they come to hire third yr students in AUGUST. The internship period is for one month after end of third year.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are just awesome and thats y it is the second ranked enginnering college in mumbai. More than 25 companies visit SPIT. Morgan Stanley, Barcalys, Credit Suisse, L and T are the top companies. Almost 100% students are placed each year. Morgan Stanley- 13 lpa, Barclays- 9 lpa, Credit Suisse -4 lpa, L and T-5 lpa.

College Events

4

All rounder events are conducted in college. The official fest organised each year is MATRIX which attracts lot of participants from all colleges of MUMBAI. There are all kinds of cultural and management festivals organised in the college and one can really participate and enjoy them.

Fees and Financial Aid

Narotam Sekhsaria scholarship is the best scholarship program in the college. You can get 50k if you become eligible for the scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is awesome. The college building is inside bhavans campus which is the biggest educational campus in mumbai after iit bombay. There is no spacious college as spit in mumbai as it located inside bhavans campus. gender ratio is almost 1:1 there are facilities for everything from robotics debates. Various extracurricular activities are held from time to time which includes dance sports and everything.

Hostel Facilities

5

There is no hostel provided by the college. One can get admission into SPCE hostel but the seats for it are limited and admission is given on the basis of merit the mess is good food is delicious and quality is awesome and there is variety in the food offered daily.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are the best friends in SPIT.They are the best guiders for everything from placements to every small thing.

Exam Structure

College is from 9-5 daily and the schedule is almost hectic until u really want to attend boring lectures and write assignments and quizzes. There are two term tests in each semester which are of college level at the end of semester you have to appear for final exams.

Admission

There is centralised allotment of colleges on basis of JEE MAIN(AIEEE) exam. But one can get admission privately. After allotment of college u need to visit the office and fill up admission form and provide all your details and relevant documents. You would also need to pay the fees.

Faculty

4

Faculty can be given moderate grade as they are not good teachers. They just want you to write assignments and study from their notes. If u do any research work outside the college they are not willing to appreciate. They just want you to do according to their mindset for eg attend lectures write notes etc.

After 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements depending upon their capabilities, staff recomendation, CGPA, and various other factors. Not everyone is provided with placements because 80% of the students prefer studying for masters. Companies like TCS, cipla, abott, and many more pharma companies visit here with average package of 4 lakh per annnum.
