Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum includes a lot of relevant subjects such as financial accounting, cost accounting, marketing, and special emphasis is laid on business communications, organizational theory, etc., which would help students get ready for the corporate world. One faculty member teaches his/ her subject in 2 sections out of 4, hence the ratio is decent. Faculty members are majorly FPM holders from IIM, or foreign universities, and have a lot of experience in teaching as well. Exams were conducted as per schedule on Webex, there was no internet glitch and no delay or postponement was there.
Internships Opportunities
Internships were offered by Deloitte, EY, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Cognizant, and various other companies in domains such as finance, marketing, operations, HR, etc. Roles offered were digital marketing intern, sales intern, operations inters, supply chain manager, etc.
Placement Experience
Placement season starts after the 4th semester, and last year 180 recruiters attended the placements and all were placed, prominent names were Deloitte, ICICI Bank, KPMG, Tata Steel, Indian Oil, etc. The highest package was 28 Lacs and many students received PPOs. 100% of students got placed from the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Considering all other IIMs, IIM Raipur has not raised its fees much unlike other colleges like Trichy, Kozhikode etc. The package offered at other colleges is lesser than Raipur and still, their fee is a lot higher, which makes it a value for money investment and best ROI. It does not offer financial assistance basis Income, however, it does offer financial assistance during student exchange programs. I worked on Live projects and earned 5,000 a month working 20 hours per week that too as per my convenience.
Campus Life
We have not yet visited the campus because of covid restrictions, but soon we will get the opportunity to stay at the campus and experience campus life. For the time being, cultural fests, freshers, Halloween and other events have been conducted online by our club Rang.
Hostel Facilities
Single occupancy rooms with study table, bed, cupboard, meals available even at midnight, hostel and mess charges are relatively lesser in comparison to other IIMs, Being a residential program, living outside would require approval from Dean on medical grounds, further the same would definitely be a lot expensive than the hostel provided by the college. Hence, no use of going for a PG.
Interview Experience
I gave a Written Ability Test, the topic was "Can India and Pakistan ever be friends?' 20 Mins time was given to write and it was the pen-paper mode. Further, there were personal interviews, 2 panelists were there who asked about my work experience, my interests, theory part like accounting questions such as what is AS, USGAAP, etc. I took 6 mock interviews from TIME's Sure Shot batch to prepare. Further, I myself practiced some common questions like Tell me about yourself and brushed up the concepts studied in school and college.
