Remarks

This college was ranked in the top 10 colleges of Delhi University and the course that I wanted to pursue was available in just 9 colleges of du out of which it was on number 2. The education here is amazing. Professors are very good at their job. All the events and festivals are celebrated with full spirit here. However, some bad side of this college is a network issue and no security on the street of where it is located many crimes happen there like theft and molestation, etc. Admission processes is clearly mentioned on the website www.gargi.du.ac.in for most of the courses cut off lists come but for some courses like b.el.ed there is an entrance exam. Gargi College is well-reputed amongst all the other du colleges and many great products coming out of it. You can either know the information about Gargi College on DU's official website du.ac.in or on Gargi College's official website that I have mentioned above. It is truly a pleasure being a student of this college. All girls college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose to pursue a bachelor's in elementary education because I always had this passion for becoming a teacher or you can say facilitator to guide students. This course offers the best opportunity to get your dream. Moreover, this is a professional course 4 years program in which last year is of the internship. The student-teacher ratio is 5:50. But our faculty teachers are so good that they are connected with each and every child. All of my professors are Phd. And their teaching method is to teach by connecting to real life. Our examination pattern is annual and we don't have that much burden. Though there are many assignments the whole year.

Placement Experience

Starting from the first-year plenty of opportunities for internships appear for freshers. Though I had never opted for any internship that our college had offered in our program, it is compulsory to do an internship in the last year. On average around 30-40% of students get the placement with good annual packages. After the degree, I would prefer higher education.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our annual fees are around 1550 till last year but now they have increased the fees to 16k around. I don't think that this is expensive even for low-income groups. However, our college has student funds that offer scholarships to the students who belong below the poverty line. There are many internships that come after completing the course.

Campus Life

5

There are numerous fests and programs happens in our college. One of the most famous is Zistatv in which for 3 days we have functions and this happens around Diwali. Not just that we celebrate almost every festival in our college. We have plenty of societies like dance society singing and nukad natak or art. Each and every society is very active and each year they take auditions to enter new students.

Interview Experience

5

Yes to pursue this course you have to give an entrance exam. And on the basis of your rank, you'll get a college. The written exam isn't that difficult there are few books that are available in local stationaries like Arihant to prepare for the exam. After filling the form you'll get the center which you have to visit and give the entrance exam. I guess this is the most reasonable way of giving the admissions.

Placement Experience:

Students in B.ed course become eligible to take jobs in the last semester i.e 4th semester. The college does not provide any placement in our course instead students themself have to mail and contact different schools to secure a teching job. Average package a student can expect depends on many factors like their subjects, qualifications and skills. On an average one can expect around 6lpa in private sector. For securing jobs in government schools Students have to clear exams like DSSSB etc where average package ranges from 10 -12 lpa. Many of my seniors are doing jobs in private schools as techers while some teach online and have their you tube channels. I am planning to do masters in English literature from DU to increase my knowledge and job opportunities.

The B.El.Ed. curriculum offers an interdisciplinary approach, blending theory and practice across subjects like Education, Psychology, and Sociology. It emphasizes hands-on teaching experience through internships, where students practice in real classrooms. There's a strong focus on child development, helping future teachers understand diverse learning needs and manage inclusive classrooms effectively.
