G PRASANTH's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Durgapur

Ranked one of the top 10 NITs in India, Ranked under 50 in NIRF Ranked Colleges/Universities in India, Campus having good infrastructure with well decent equipped labs, Optimum Hostel and mess fee around ??_15000/- Per Semester.

The course syllabus was related to Thermal power plants, I.c engines and Energy Engineering (Renewable and Non Renewable). For the first two semesters there is no much industrial visits other than Seminars like (RAFTE- Recent advances in Fluids and Thermal engineering) in the campus itself, Also the Seminars what will happen are under NIRF in the own campus are free of cost for those students who belongs to that campus.For the Last two semesters College will allow the Students for taking Internship program in Industries. There is no such kind of good/ not good kind of faculties. Everyone is unique in their respective research work, For the academics point of view almost everyone is strict, At the ending of second semester Students have to start project by working under the faculties.Each student should be assigned to the different faculty members.

There are plenty of companies visit the campus every year. Some of them are mass recruirters and others will take the people only who can reach their expectations.Mostly there are software companies visiting the companies also there are other core companies also came with handsome package. Every company will take the Students by screening them by different stages(For example objective examination, Group discussion, Technical interview, HR interview)

One can lead the campus life is like a free bird in the campus. There are lot of cafeterias inside the campus. Also you can go outside of the campus for shopping, movies etc.You will be allowed to the campus from outside in late nights also but the security will take your details and also you have to write the reason for coming late night to the campus. There are many events happening in the university like technical, cultural within department level or university level.Out of Which one biggest fest is happening in the college (technical+Cultural) where all the students inside the campus and also Students from other Colleges( Those who have registered)will be a part of this fest.In this fest the highlight is that DJ nightis happened in the football ground with plenty of such that the sound will reach all the corners of the college. It is happening for 3-4 days,there is a different program for different night.

I am availing MHRD GATE scholarship for PG Students(12000/- per month), Also anyone can take the educational loan by joining the college for the full time course.

The campus is lush green atmosphere and situated far from the city. Sports facilities are really damn good in the campus. Every hostel in the campus has both basket ball courts and wolley ball courts. Also there is a football ground and also cricket ground. Also people who are really much interested in sports may go for inter NIT championship all over india. For every hostel wifi facilities are available. And this will reach to everyone by WLAN connection with a good bradband speed. In our College Library is having separate dedicated building such that large Volumes of books are available.Students can take the books depends on their respective streams.The size of the library is very huge, also there are computer desks in the library such that you can stream for the video classes, NPTEl lectures, etc. The labs are well equipped with machines, Instruments and are having good maintenance. Even you can do your project work in extra hours also in the lab sby taking prior permission from the respective lab incharge.

By joining our college it is mandatory for every student to reside inside the campus. Also everyone will happy to stay inside the college.The PG hostel rooms are given as one room for two persons. In any case of the rooms are vacant you can occupy that room as a single roommate by taking permission from the hostel incharge. On the very first day after the completion of your academic course registration they will allott you room.
