Remarks

This university is founded by Rabindranath Tagore. The Faculties of foreign languages are very good. The course syllabus contains a lot of useful things which are practical for further education and future Jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus is quite practical. There are campus interviews from Amazon, the students are always guided for future job options and opportunities. The Faculties are very good, they put a lot of effort for preparing lessons. Prof. Romit Roy and Prof. Barbara Sengupta was very good and helpful.

College Events

The campus life is enjoyable. There are so many festivals held the two campus auditorium. Many evens of drama, seminars , workshop and other cultural events. Participation can be made through the concerned departments. Santiniketan is famous for hosting very popular cultural events (i.e. - Basantoutsav, Pous Mela etc.)

Campus Life

It includes multiple libraries (the Central library, 2nd biggest of the state West Bengal and departmental library), Free wi-fi in the whole campus, Sports grounds with equipments provided by concerned authorities and the campus is very wide-spread.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are quite ok, with two bedded rooms. One must apply for the hostel. Boarders are selected according to the distance from their own domicile. So many PGs are available. The rent is normal 1500-3500.

Hostel Fee: INR 26000 per year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a complex and vast one, with multiple areas in focus, which itself is a merit as it serves its purpose in training a Christian minister for all the challenges. The course is more praxis than a confined theoretical classroom. Certain improvements in teaching methods can be brought up. Teachers must ensure the students' study and find some way to monitor it. Otherwise students tend to get stuck in the wide array of topics to study and somehow just find it difficult.

Overall the universities in this country, I decided to study at Visva Bharati University because it is built in a rural area and the method of teaching here is through the open learning and friendly ambience of nature. As founded by the father of Rabindranath Tagore, Debendranath Tagore referred to Santiniketan ( the area of the University) as the world in one place, and people from all over the world can come and learn together here.
