Remarks

The college gave me a bunch of good friends, memories, affectionate teachers and the most important Education. The time here is the most valuable and once in a lifetime time spent. Being a part of this college and university always makes me feel proud - proud to be a Dscian.

Entrance Preview

I didn't gave any of the entrance examinations. I only registered for Delhi university , that was basically a risk as the admissions are based only on percentage and if the percentage does not match the cut off then no admission will be given . But thankfully i got one, as Delhi university was always my first choice as it is one of the renowned universities of India and my parents and I myself are proud to be a part of it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The examination pattern is semester wise and course structure is accordingly. There is no such over burdened course and the students can study and prepare well in the given course of time. The phd students are doing well for their research and teachers are help ful and supportive as well. Our principal Dr. I.S Bakshi is a great man and a great teacher as well . His sense of solving problems with absolute patience and his calm and polite nature is on of the best thing.

Internships Opportunities

Yes there is a placement cell in our college that provides placements for the final yer students and internships for all year interested students. The stipend is fair enough according to the duration and work but most importantly the experience is always good. The companies like Indigo, Urbenclap, Bajaj capital , Teach for india , avanti learning centre , inshorts, Kpmg , Oberoi groups came to our college with different stipends and packages respectively.

Placement Experience

5

The placement cell is good and many students have been well placed by the end of their final year. Different comapnies like Lawrato -3lac ctc p.a, Urben clap- 3.8 ctc p.a, Ace insurance- 4-5 lav ctc p.a, Bajaj capital- 3lac ctc + Reimbursement, Avanti learning center- 4lac ctc, Teach for India - 17000 p.m. The student placed with the highest package ever was 4-5 lac p.a.

College Events

4

Events celebrated in out college are fresher's party (college official and unofficial), D.U's Boxing championship, Departments fest, College fest, cleanliness day, Teachers day, Founder's day, Department Farewell, Ncc fest and sports day all of these are celebrated with great pomp and show.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is extremely affordable with such facilities, education and level of college the fee for the first year uncluding examination fee was around 5k-5.5k for the second year was 6k to 7 k and for the third year was 7k to 7.5 k . The fees is very reasonable as compared as at this less amount we are getting education at such a renowned and well known college than paying thousands of rupees in private colleges just for the sake of degree. There is no such burden on the parents and it makes them feel proud that at this amount their ward is getting good education . This is the benifit of studying in government college and i am happy by the fee structure of the university that do not put any burden related to the fee structure. A cost of INR1000 is taken during the admission time that is refunded at the time of taking the degree and leaving the college . At the time of registration the cost of registration form is also less i.e rs100 as compared to other colleges and universities. All in all the fee structure is feasible and students from all the financial backgrounds can afford to study in the college without any burden of paying fee, this is one of the perk in studying in Delhi University. This provides a great help and encourage students to prepare well and get admissions in such universities that provide such fesiable fee structure that helps us to manage other lively expenses as well in today's say Expensive world where everything is getting costlier day by day that includes education as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no such idea but yes fee compensation are given to to students who cannot afford the fee. This provide help go those students who are going through any kind of financial crisis and want to get good education.

Campus Life

3

The campus environment is good but the jaat and gujjar community boys create a chaos in the college and especially during the election time actually this happens all over the Delhi university. But other wise the campus of our college is one of the biggest in the university and it is also provided by a girls common room for girls and medical room as well. There is an auditorium and seminar hall for various events. Play ground , garden, basketball court and canteen is also available. There is an amphitheater with a stage in the center and cemented stairs in a curve shape around the stage for various events and practice purpose. Gender biased activities are not at all tolerated by the college authorities and politics is at its peak.

Hostel Facilities

4

I live in a pg and the average rental to be paid is 7k for the room and 2k for the food and 3 k for other expenses. As my college is in south delhi so to reduce the time and travel expenses i had to find a living near to my college . South delhi in comparison to other parts of delhi is much more expensive in every aspect. So the living as well is expensive . I live in a double sharing roo + bathroom + living room + kitchen. The total rent is 14k excluding the electricity and gas bill the electricity bill is Approx. 1k per month and gas 100rs per month . The food expense is 2k per person and personal expense is 3k.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni and senior students were a help when required during the elections but after that they are selectively available.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is semester wise but for science students there are labs most of the days that are very hectic. Classes are according to the sections and timetable.for science students there are plenty of labs unlike arts and commerce students so the work being a science student is more as there are so many files and practical work to be completed and we need to focus more as we can't afford to miss any of the labs otherwise the further experiments will not be understood. All this leaves us with a hectic week end and during the practical exams the fear is at its peak this leaves us with a hectic exam time for our exams keeps going on for a duration of one month unlike commerce and arts students who only have their theory exams that's hardly lasts for two weeks after the exams get over there is no such hectic schedule and then we are chilled out without any tension of completing the files and other work.

Admission

I got the admisson as my percentage matched the second cut off list of this particular college. I came to the college with all the required documents, filled the admisson form ,submitted all the documents and the admisson fee therefore i got the admisson.

Faculty

4

As the university itself has a repo. So the teachers are as well educated and qualified. Most of the teachers are interested in teaching their particular subjects in proper time and way so that the students may get what they taught and would not fave any problems later on.

Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Biomedical Sciences)
Reviewed on Mar 3, 2026(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.
