Remarks

No. Giving a non biased statement. The best college in Kolkata where you get all the departments and all facilities and best faculty and laboratories.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very informative and up-to-date. The laboratories are well equipped and classroom sessions are interactive. The atmosphere is amazing. Overall best. We get both industry and research oriented knowledge. Students will get the proper guidance for which way to choose in future.

Placement Experience

4

There are many campus drives which are organised in our university. There happens one written exam round, one aptitude round and final interview round. But these sections and their criteria vary from company to company. Many big companies have organised their campus drives in our university. Like TCS, Vedanta group, Samsung, etc. And also if anyone wants to pursue research or PhD, they will also get the help from the profeesors as there are many profeesors who work as PhD guides.

College Events

5

The first one is Sanskriti. It's the cultural fest of our university. Other universities also participate. Many well known renowned bands have also participated in this show. The second one is Srijan. It's the tech fest of our university. The third one is our departmental reunion which is named as Samannay (in English it means reunite). There are many more fests that are organised by our university. The rest are available in our university website.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is extremely feasible and reasonable as this is a government university and students from all background come here to study in this university. There are so many students coming from rural areas and also they cannot afford much money. This is their ideal place. There is a separate admission fee and annual fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. I never opted for any scholarships. But there are various criteria for applying for scholarships.

Campus Life

Gender ratio depends on course. In engineering it is less while in arts and science it is more. Moreover in engineering it also depends on branch. For cs it ece and chemical ,the ratio is 3:1 while branches like civil and mechanical have ratio 9:1. There is no gender discrimination in college. Events are organised to minimize gender discrimination in country.

Hostel Facilities

No, I didn't opt for hostel. But there are both boys and girls hostels in separate buildings and in opposite directions of the campus. There are total 13 hostels ( 4 for girls and 9 for boys). You have to appear for an interview to get the hostel accommodation. If your annual family income is below a definite value then only you'll be able to apply for hostel. Details are given in the website.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. We get to interact with a lot of ex students and alumni because of the reunion organised by our department.

Admission

I did my B.Sc. in electronics, so wanted to pursue my M.Sc. also in electronics. I applied in JU and appeared for entrance exam, ranked 7th and got admitted. The admission procedure is very usual. You need to pass the entrance exam and then they will counsel you about why you want to pursue this course and check your previous marksheets and finally admitting you in the department.

Faculty

5

The profeesors of my department as well as other departments are super cooperative and supportive. Whenever you need help, they always have you back. They provide us with the proper explanation, lectures, theses and study materials. They will help you in clearing your doubts and help you improve.

Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .
