Remarks

College is very much crowded, not much space in the campus. Entire college is in 5 acres of land. It's the only bad remark. College is in the centre of the city, it's a big plus point.

Course Curriculum Overview

I'm doing my BTech in chemical engineering. It's a 8 semester course, there will be around 6 subjects and workshops and labs in every semester except 8th. In every semester there is 2 internal exams and 2 assignments for every subject along with the 100 mark final semester exam. Course will provide complete knowledge in the respective stream along with the practical classes. Practical knowledge is very much helpful in the time of internships and also will increase the chance of getting placed. Industrial visit and internships are compulsory for certification. College provides campus placement program. In final semester we need to do project work based on any relevant topic related to our branch. mini project works, seminar paper presentations are also compulsory. There for in fact the college will provide all chances to become a better professional.

Placement Experience

2.5

Generally IT or marketing companies are conducting placement drives like Infosys, TATA, sometimes core companies like Reliance, cement manufacturers are also coming. There will be an objective type exam in the first stage of the process, after that group discussions and interviews. Placement cell in our college is providing model tests and interviews, and also special training sessions. Around 50% of students are getting placed every year.

College Events

5

Technical fest named LAKSHYA is conducting in every year, it's a 4 day program with various events.students across Kerala are coming to attend the workshops and participate inthe events. College arts fest named MALHAR is also conducting on every year, it's also a 4 day program. It's a competition between the groups created by College, somany students are participating in this.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's a government college, so there is only exam fees and tuition fees. It's around 8500 in every year. For the minorities they are getting scholarship for this entire fees. So expensive is very less. I'm staying in my own house, so there is no hostel and food expenses. For traveling govt is issued special students pass, so the travel expense is very less. If we chose hostel, around 3500 monthly expense will be there.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm availed egrantz scholarship given by central government authorities, family annual income should be less than 5 lakh to get this grant. All of our college expenses includes in this. We need to submit our income certificate and application form for the scholarship in the college to avail this.

Campus Life

There is no inequality in gender at the campus. College union is conducting almost all the programs in the campus. Union election is occurring in the starting of a semester, all the political parties are there in our college, campus election is a tough competition. Every union is responsible for the technical, cultural, events conducting in the campus. They are doing their level best to make the campus proud.

Hostel Facilities

No, in our college there is only women hostel, around 3000 Rs are charging per month for them, boys are staying as paying guest in the homes near by, or buying house in rent. There will be around 10 people in a rental house. Food can bought from college canteen in less expense.

Alumni/Alumna

College has a large alumni, there alumni meets occurring in the college under the union, so that we can interact with them.

Admission

I wanted to be an engineer, so that I chose science branch for secondary studies. After that I'm appeared for common entrance test KEAM conducted by Kerala State. I got rank and so that I got admission in famous government engineering college Kozhikode which is accredited by NBA. Generally the entrance exams happening in April May months, and admission procedures will be completed in the month of June. It's a 4 year course

Faculty

4

There is 3 associate professors, 8 assistant professors, and 2 or 3 guest lecturers in our chemical department. All of them have done their masters. Now PhD is also compulsory to become permanent staff, and also they should qualify the NET examination. All of them have thorough subject knowledge, and they try their level best to convey to us. We can ask any doubts in the subject. Age range is in between 25 to 56. Under the associate professors some persons are doing their PhD. Our college is under direct government control, so that all of the lecturers are highly qualified and best in the state.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the.
