Course Curriculum Overview

4

This course that I have choose is really relevant to the curriculum and real life applications of this course. The subjects that I study in the college really makes us future ready. I can't really think of any areas of improvement in this course. Each semester we have three exams which includes two internal exams for internal grading and one semester exam. The internal exams are not that difficult if we study for them but the semester exams are really tough.

Internships Opportunities

3

The college provides internship from I think 3rd year 6th semester onwards. I haven't currently applied for any internships as I am in my first year of college. I am now focusing on developing my skills but I do plan to apply for internship from my college.

Placement Experience

3

The placements at college are pretty decent. I think the students become eligible for placement from 4th year onwards. The highest package from our college last year was around 10 lakhs per annum by a student from electronics and Communications department. Some of the top companies that visit our college for recruitment are TCS and L&T. The average package at our college is around 4 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students that get placed from our college is around 40% I also plan to get placed from college placement itself and I will try my level best for it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly at my college for mechanical engineering is around 10500 rupees. There are also some other expenses like sports fund. PTA fund, cultural events fund etc. Some of my class mates have SC/ST reservation so they have fee concession. Otherwise all my batch mates have the same fees.

Campus Life

5

The cultural and social life at our college is really nice. The name of the annual Techfest at our college is Lakshya. Apart from that there are also many cultural events that take place at our college organised by student councils and union. As I already said the library at our college is really big and it has a lot of books which are easily accessible for the students. We have really nice classrooms at our college. Every classroom has a smart board which is connected to a projector for projecting slides and notes. Our college organizes a lot of sports competitions like football, Kabaddi, chess, basketball etc. There are many social groups in our college, for example NSS and IEEE. The social groups organises events and fests which gives students a lot of opportunities.

Admission

I applied for a lot of top college in my state but I couldn't get in them due to my grades. I chose this college because this colleges really known for mechanical engineering and this college is also near to my hometown. After I got allotted in this college I came here with my parents for verification and admission process. The cut off rank for this college for mechanical engineering is around 18000. To get into this college we have to write an entrance exam called KEAM.

Faculty

5

The faculty at our college is really nice. They are really good teaching and really professional. Every subject packati helps with her doubts and makes us understand the subject. There also really support you of the students so find it difficult to study. I really like Mr Sudheesh sir who teaches us engineering mechanics. He is really passionate with the subject and really likes teaching us. There are total of 8th semester in our college within 4 years and each semester has two internal exams which are somewhat difficult but if you study for them they are not that hard. Our University is infamous for making the semester exams really tough.

Night Life

5

The night life at our college is very nice too. You can see many students hanging out at night in our college. After dinner I also often go to my college for a night walk or something. College also has a fully functional gym with all the equipments required. There is also a pretty nice canteen at our college which gives meals for lunch and breakfast. There is no hostel facilities at our college soeverybody lives in PGs. There are no specific timings for our PG so we can be out at whatever time we want and come back whatever time we want. The most famous hangout spot at our college is a swing by the Civil engineering department. There are many people always hanging out there and it is really happening place.

Other Applied Colleges

Government Engineering College Wayanad | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)

I didn't opt for this college as GECK was a better option than this. Also it was close to my home town

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably
