Remarks

DSE do have a good Course structure, highly qualified faculty members, also do have Good placements records. I wanted to explore more in the field of economics, thus I chose doing an MA in economics. DSE do have a flexible and do give more options to choose subjects from. in semester 3 and 4 all subjects are optionals, we need to choose 4 out of 10 subjects offered. Thus it do have a flexible course structure. Also, it do have a research exposure in the field of economics under the guidance of such qualified faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course syllabus do get updated year after year as new batch enters, as professors sees that something new topic in the field has been researched out so they generally put that thing into the course. No industrial exposure FACULTY=Abhijeet banerjee(topics in economic theory, game theory),Ram Singh(Micro), JV meenakshi(EDPI, econometrics), Parikshit Ghosh(Micro), Anirban Kar(maths), Sudhir Shah(maths, game theory), Mousami (macro),etc are one the best in their fields.

Internships Opportunities

GSTN (Goods & Services tax network) internship, no stipend, research project.

Placement Experience

4

Companies visited- American express, deliotee, Amazon, Jp Morgan Chase & co., Wells Fargo, Accenture, Credit Suisse, Procter & gamble, etc are the main recruiters. Roles are generally related to data analyst, analytics profiles, risk management, sales marketing, finance related, etc Although with a big amount of batch size there is always a pressure on placement cell to recruit each and every student, so it's not a 100 percent placement record in dse. Packages will certainly going to drop this time compared to the previous years.

College Events

4.5

No fests, no cultural activity in my department, although there is a music society of DSE, participation is quite good because there are many students in my batch. Extracurricular activities are great, there Is a placement cell in dse who invites companies and do tell us if there are any quizzes or any sort of case study tournament is held up any company. Also, there are inter hostel DU matches for cricket, chess, badminton, TT, volleyball etc

Campus Life

Do not have any such sports facilities specifically inside although my DU hostel and University stadium are the places I do generally go to. My Hostel (Mansarovar) do have Badminton, TT, Volleyball, Gym, library, computer lab, reading room, newspaper room, Common room, conference hall etc. Ratan tata library, nicely air conditioned, one of the place where one can go to find out any book CDE is the place in my department where computer labs are and one can go and do some programming stuff or read online course PDFs if want to.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
