Remarks
I chose this college because first, it's a Delhi University College so it has higher value than any other University in Delhi. Second, because it's an all girls college. The environment and crowd is good, teachers are helpful, and North campus is also near. I got admission through merit and the admission process was a bit tiring. It took time as there were long ques and it was understaffed. Thirdly, because faculty is good but of course you have to learn on your own, teachers here are not going to spoon feed you everything like in school.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always liked reading novels and articles so I decided to pursue this course after school. Some faculty members are good, they are knowledgeable, helpful, and if you are eager to learn, they will definitely listen to you. If I talk about overall, then the faculty is average. You have to learn on your own, they are not going to spoon feed you everything. We have CBCS system , so the exams were according to the university adn were held timely. I would say that scoring a good percentage is not that easy, you have to brush up your knowledge about Literature.
Placement Experience
There were no placements or internship opportunities in my final year of college. Students usually go for post graduation after their graduation. But the good thing is that the English Department is quite active in organising various events. Students can participate and can also win prizes and certificates. This can help you to get an upper hand in job opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the whole course is quite reasonable i.e around 8000 per year. To be honest, there weren't many opportunities provided to the students in their final years. There were no placements as per my knowledge nor any internship opportunities. But the good thing is that the department is quite active in organising various events in which you can participate and boost your resume.
Campus Life
Campus Life is very fun-loving. An annual fest is organised every year in the month of February in which you can enjoy and also get the chance to see celebrities. Everything is available around the college like food, stationary etc. North campus and Kamla Nagar is also 10-15 min away from the college, so if you get any free time between classes, you can go there and enjoy. The library is well equipped with books and journals. They will let you issue three books at a time. Classrooms are quite small in the old building and need renovation, but in the new building they are of normal size. College is quite active in sports and there's a huge playground at the back of the college. There are also various clubs and societies for you to join as per your interests.
Other Applied Colleges
GGSIPU | B.A (Hons.) English
According to me, DU seemed like a better option.
