Remarks

College staff is helpful and polite but they need to more active in doing their work. Regarding the faculty they need to be proactive and more practical towards their teaching approach. About the infra I would say itメs a thumbs up and just keep up the good work.

Entrance Preview

Delhi University College you have to fill a Bcommon application form for all the colleges. No entrance is required admission is on the basis of your 12th Percentage. First Cut-off goes around 97% which does drop a bit in the second cut-off. Although at my time the cut-off was around 90% and i was lucky to get admission in the college since then the percentage cut-off is increasing each year.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is historic and is focused more towards research. Subjects include statistics, analytical, algebra and some physics subjects as well which i found tough as i was not from science background.

Internships Opportunities

No internships provided as such. Although I remember there were some sessions organized in the college by Phd. Professors and readers related to research and paper publishing in a journal which you could attend if you were interested. Need to have more of practical oriented sessions.

Placement Experience

4

You will not have many placement opportunities and they are not that good also after all it is just a Graduation course not a professional degree. Most of the placement opportunities were from BPO or KPO's and some related to data analysis job. Companies that mainly came to the campus were Dell,HCL,Capital IQ,Wipro and many other small companies. I did an MA in Maths and had to go for Lectureship hence I did not consider the placement opportunities.

College Events

4

Coming to the fun events held in college. I would say that you wont forget your college life ever over here. The College Fest is one thing which is must awaited where their is a cultural night including dance, singing, fun games and paper presentations. It is just awesome the environment in North Campus is great and hell lot of food joints and shopping places. You can hang out with your friends at anytime anywhere.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure very much feasible as it is a DU college and it almost free compared to other private universities. The fees was around 5000 rs a year and no other money in between is taken. It is the same for all DU Colleges as they are focused towards student learning and not money. This is one of the reason why every student wants to take admission in a DU College.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not think there's any loan facility for the General category students. Yes scholarship was provided to the student who came first second and third in the university but the amount was not much. It was more about recognition for your hard work.

Campus Life

4

The environment in north Campus is great and hell lot of food joints and shopping places. You can hang out with your friends at anytime anywhere.I would say that you wont forget your college life ever over here. There is equality between girls and boys and everybody is fun loving and helpful. People from various regions not only from Delhi come up here and you will get a chance to interact with them. You will also get a chance to showcase your talent in the various sports, tech and cultural events held in the college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Very good hostel facility inside the college itself. Also there are lot of PG facilities available and it very safe over here in the North Campus. The mess food is average I would say. The security facility is good around the hostel. Also you would not feel secluded as people are friendly and helpful here. Also there are lot of places to hang out and spend time outside the college.

Alumni/Alumna

This is a very disappointing fact that the college does not do anything to be in touch with the alumni or exploit their experience in any way. It completely depends on you to be in touch with your seniors or alumni for any advice or experience.

Exam Structure

It was pretty chilled out. It is an yearly course hence exams were held once in year but yes assignments and mid term exams keep taking place in the mid of the year. But I would say it is pretty manageable although the exams are tough and you will have to prepare hard to clear them and score good.

Faculty

4

Faculty is knowledgeable but they need to be updated with the latest technologies going on and not just focus on theory and delivering their lectures. I will have to say that some faculty is willing to help and have the knowledge but not all. You will have to work hard on your own in some of the subjects as they exams are pretty difficult in DU. I would say the course is definitely a path towards higher studies like Phd in Maths or Lectureship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
