Remarks

I opted for Tezpur University because it's a central university. It's also closer to where I live. The campus is beautiful and green. The hostels are homely and well maintained. The English too is supposed to be reputed and distinguished.

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus is updated and well developed. However, the course is mechanical and too exam centric. No, industrial exposure or practical skills are not imparted. The Dean of the Humanities and Social Sciences teaches really well.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements usually come for Engineering, Sciences and relatively lesser for the humanities. The placement rate is poor. Not many good companies come.

College Events

General Freshers', Varsity Week, parades, cultural night, Saraswati puja, Cultural rally etc are celebrated with fun and gaiety. Various events are organised during the Varsity week like Bihu, drama, skit, dance programs, singing events among others.

Campus Life

The Central Library is equipped with many e-resources as well as hardcopies. The ambience is really good. The labs are well equipped too. The campus is covered with the university wifi. However, the wifi signals are not very strong in certain areas of the campus.

Hostel Facilities

There are more than 12 hostels in the campus, 2 hostels exclusively for research scholars. Hostel rooms are generally 2 seaters, and those who do not get hostel seats are alloted beds in the dorms. Hostel rooms are spacious, with a wardrobe and shelf with usually three or four compartments. The washrooms and bathrooms are regularly cleaned. The hostel staff is amiable and helpful. The mess food too is relatively good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Digboi college and my experience through it .

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Life in GIPS

Placement Experience:

In the 8th semister, students will eligible for campus placement. Our college will organize campus placement. Where different companies come and if you pass the interview then you will get the job. Companys like sun pharma, Ajanta pharma will come. And they have different requirements. In starting you will get 2.5 lakhs of the package and other offers are there. In GIPS most of the students get the placement. My plan after b pharm is I will study for M pharm in GIPS.

About my college

Remarks:

I didn't have any negative remarks until last year. So there was a mistake on my form fill up. I put the right details and selected my subjects. I have selected English as my MIL and submitted my form. But when I get the admit card I got to know that my MIL subject was selected as Assamese which I never selected. Then in the examination I gave the ex for English and didn't gave for Assamese as my subjects wasn't Assamese. I told the teacher who signed my examination copy he told that it will be fixed but on the results day I got to know that it was marked as absent in the MIL exam because I didn't sit for the Assamese examination which I did because I was English student. Then I asked them they said to get my sessional exam marks from the HOD of English department. I went to the HOD and she said that the copy in which they put the records is with the commerce head so I went to him. He said he didn't have the copy and told me to get to the HOD I went back to HOD she said she didn't have the copy. Both of them didn't have the copy for which I didn't able to fix the problem. It's not cool.

Tezpur University review

I applied for different nits but couldn't get any because my jee mains percentile was little low , i applied for GFTIs like Assam University and Tezpur University, I got seat in both of them but I chose Tezpur University because it was far more better then Assam University both in terms of academics and infrastructure. My college admits students on the basis of exams like JEE Mains , TUEE , CUET , etc. For the engineering course the students are admitted on the basis of JEE Mains and TUEE scores and the cutoff is not fixed, it changes every year . A look at TU for MBA program

TU is a central government university and the ambience is majestic out here. I personally like the university very much as it creates such a bond, you would have memories forever.
