Remarks

One of the top 7 IIT's in India which are already known for their rich heritage and impeccable campus life. I opted for this specific campus cause i heard about it's campus life which is the best of all IIT's. Also, probably one of the top schools to study Civil Engineering in India as a B.Tech with professors having advanced degrees.

Course Curriculum Overview

The courses taught in our campus are always constantly updated to meet professional standards with our faculty having in-depth knowledge of what is being taught and always interact lively with all the students who are interested in the subject being taught.

Placement Experience

We have a portal called Career Development Center which deals with internship and job opportunities. Through this portal many companies apply for hiring graduates of 4th and 5th years and there is a tough competition between students to get placed for the best company.

College Events

Our college is a host to 1 major technical fest (Kshitij) and 1 major cultural fest (Spring Fest) for which there are people attending from across India. Along with these 2 major fests we host many minor fests for different departments and other cells like entrepreneurship cell and so on.

Campus Life

We have a wide range of sports facilities like basketball, football, cricket, table tennis, swimming etc. Most of the individual hostels also have their own playgrounds along with the central facilities being open for all. The library is vast with almost 3.5 Lakh+ books of almost every topic. All labs are equipped with enough instruments for the class of students to work comfortably.

Hostel Facilities

We have the tradition of calling hostels as halls in our campus. We have 23 hostels in total with 18 boys and 5 girls hostels. Most of our hostels have really good facilities and food and we are also funded by our alumni's for any necessary improvements like music room or a new TV.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Placement Experience:

Companies of all domains like the Asian Paints, EY, Nestle and HDFC Bank among all of them come to SXC. Biggest placements so far has been of 20 lakhs or so when one of the student was placedat such a package in 2024.

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
