Remarks
LSR is actually a great college. There is some internal politics at play in the college but that's the case with every DU college. You get to learn so much, so many talented people surround you. It pushes you to be the best version of yourself.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is amazing. It's great in terms of the diversity we're involved in. The college definitely made me a better leader because I was also the secretary of the dance society of my college. It's was all fair for me, however some students do face biases
Placement Experience
Placement cell works really hard. They're well organised and there are plenty opportunities. I availed one internship in my first year through college and it was very well worth it. I learnt a lot.
College Events
Annual event is called Tarang. There's Noor, the Diwali mela apart from that. And moreover, there are multiple things going on every day organised by the societies of the college. It's always full of buzz and activity. Noor involves a lot of food stalls and jewellery stalls. Tarang is full of people and fun and competitions organised by many societies. It's amazing. Definitely one of the bests. Just that entry is a little difficult if you don't have a pass for the event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is pretty feasible, considering its a government college. My program fee was 18k per year. DU has the lowest fee of all other unis in Delhi. Mode of payment is online and offline as well. No additional fee or charges required. The fee breakdown is pretty transparent. No problem there.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I did not opt for any scholarships or loans because the college is pretty cheap. But yeah, I think LSR provides financial aid to some students. I don't know about the procedure.
Campus Life
My college is a women only college but the experience is amazing. There's a lot of diversity, people from all over India come to LSR. Several workshops are held by students from time to time. Speakers are invited, everything is great. LSR doesn't really participate in regular DU elections politics because we're away from the main campus.
Hostel Facilities
No, but hostel rooms are sharing with 2 people in a room. There's no wifi but rest everything is available. Beds and all. PGs around college are a little expensive because south delhi is a little expensive area in general. My PG costed 12k per month, including food but excluding electricity charges. That would be additional 1k at max.
Alumni/Alumna
They are all helpful. College invites them from time to time to take workshops. My experience with my seniors has been terrific, absolutely loved it.
Admission
Through merit list. They work just like other DU colleges. The lists would most probably be released by August last week. I opted for this course because I want to be a writer. LSR is one of the best colleges in India for BA in English. I filled the DU form, and then the LSR form by visiting the campus. Submitted all essential documents. And voila. Done.
Faculty
Faculty is decent. Some teachers are super talented and smart. We have around 4-5 lectures per day, 5 days of the week. Most of the teachers are PhD holders and teach subjects that they did research in. The curriculum is very well suited like that. Although there are some teachers who aren't as interested, but every college has them, right? Overall faculty experience would be 8/10
