Remarks
All in all - the college is great. The 4 years that I Was there were most cherished and loved.
Course Curriculum Overview
Polymer Engineering - Course Curriculum is certainly relevant. All the department heads are Doctors and Masters of their field and highly research driven. That culture helps students go after research and think differently. One example - I was encouraged by the Department head to pursue Specialty Polymers that helped me identify and work on something very interesting - Flame Retardants.
Placement Experience
The Placement Process of the college is great. they taken great efforts in connecting with the right people and making sure all students are presented with the opportunity.
College Events
MIT SUMMIT - most sought after Sports event in the state, it is celebrated by athletes all over the country. It is beautifully organized and executed. Management takes special efforts in making the event happen. There are other cultural events in the college that are equally celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive - The college now charges more than a lac a year, which to an average household is difficult to keep up to. I think the institution can do much better on the front of granting Scholarships and other such benefits to incoming students, thus making it more attractive.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I did not. I did not have the need to avail any education loan. I borrowed the money from my parents.
Campus Life
The College has a healthy mix of Males and Females, not only within the Student community, but also in the Leadership and Teacher fraternity. The college is the leader and high achiever in the Robotics field. Robocon is MIT's very own event, which has achieved International recognition. There are plenty of other Sports/cultural/technical competitions organized and encouraged that keeps the life on campus upbeat.
Hostel Facilities
No. Since I was a day scholar (Staying in the same city as the college) I never found the need to enrolling for Hostels. However, the hostel facilities were great. It always befitted from being closer to the college library.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network has been very good and has had a great level of participation from all the students.
Admission
MIT is one of the top Engineering Colleges in Pune. The college has a great campus, and renowned for its courses in IT. The college is also known for its one of a kind courses in different branches of Chemistry - Polymer, Petrochemical and Petroleum. Hence, was interested in pursuing my career since I was inclined towards Chemistry. Also, the college is known for promoting students to pursue sports and other curricular. They have the best Football team in the city, and that attracted me to join as well. Needless to mention, I had the most wonderful time at MIT in my years.
Faculty
Faculty is great! Well-equipped and connected to the Who's who of the industry. They not only do a great job in delivering the course content, but also help arrange Industry connects to help keep the students relevant. This has helped students understand and grow.
