Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was satisfactory. Our course had only the theory portion. The curriculum was divided into three years and not the semesters. We had to appear for the yearly examinations. The study material was available in the library and on online sites.
Placement Experience
There were no such placement or internship opportunities for my course. I had opted for a postgraduate course. However, few companies came to hire students from the commerce department. The placement percentage and packages are quite low.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee charged was very nominal. It was around 2,690 rupees for a year. The fee included the tuition charges for the entire year. Other charges like hostel fee had to be paid separately. Overall, the fee structure was affordable and inexpensive.
Campus Life
The infrastructure facilities of our college were satisfactory. Since our college is located in a suburban area, modern amenities were missing. However, we had furnished classrooms, adequately equipped labs and a library.
Admission
Admission at Islampur College for the honours course is strictly based on merit. Merit is calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the English language, the subject for which the honours course is opted and the marks scored in the other two subjects excluding EVS.
Faculty
The college faculty was well qualified and experienced. Some of them were M.Phil degree holders. There were guest lectures also which were taken by temporary teachers. The teaching methods were traditional.
