Kaliyaganj College Admissions
Admissions to all courses are solely on the basis of merit in the 12th standard examination. For the general courses, the merit list is released on the basis of merit in the Best five subjects, including English and excluding EVS. For the honor courses, the merit list is released based on the merit achieved in the subject of specialization added to the grand total in other subjects, including English and excluding EVS. The facilities provided by the college include:
- Library: The library houses 20,215 books of various disciplines with more than 2,000 different titles. It is also a subscriber of 21 journals. The library also provides photocopying facilities.
- Hostel: The college hosts male students in the north end of its campus. It can accommodate only 20 students. A Women’s hostel is also under construction.
- Laboratories: The college has laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology. The laboratories are quite spacious and well equipped with up to date apparatus.
- Computer Centre: There is a Central Computer Centre with Internet and LAN facilities. Besides that, the computer science department has its own laboratory. The teaching staff room has four computers with internet facilities where teachers carry on their research work for the academic up-gradation of the whole institution.

Ans. Yes, vocational courses under the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education & Training have been started in this college from the academic year 2006-07. Two streams: Home Science and Agriculture are available in the college at X+2 level.
Ques. Are there any reservations?
Ans. Yes, in each course, 3% (three percent) seats are reserved for physically handicapped applicants.
Ques. What are the age criteria required?
Ans. Students who passed in 2019-20 are eligible. Students who passed out of 12th in 2018-19 are also eligible, but 5 merit points will be cut from their selection score. Similarly, students who passed out of 12th in 2017-18 are eligible but 10 merit points will be cut. If the student passed out before 2017, he/ she is not eligible for admission.

The course curriculum is made in such a way so that the students do not lead a stress full college life There are a total of three years and as there are two semesters in a year, our course comprises of six semesters.

Nil I don?t have any bad remarks about the college. I?m happy here and am happy that I chose this college and got a seat for a certain course that I had opted for along with feasible fee. Which is all that i looked for.

The course curriculum for B.Com Hons. is deigned very concisely so that students have knowledge about all the aspects of the subject. The students can also select an elective of their choice which they want to study about like economics, psychology, history, etc. The duration of the course is 3 years and it is further divided into 6 semesters so that students can understand the course easily and thoroughly.

The course which is taught is affiliated to the University of Gour Banga. So that makes the course well adapted to all the aspects and topics related to the course. For my course, we had a chance to opt for the three different groups. The compulsory subjects were Bengali and English. The examinations were also taken regularly.
Admission:
I don't have any thing bad to say about this college... For me it's the best college and will be the best college always. There are some places where things needs to be done little more.. but because of this you can't term this college bad..

Course curriculum was very well made. We were asked to give feedbacks on different parts of our syllabus. Exams were held very year but apart from this we got different types of assignment during whole academic.

The course curriculum for my course is very vast and well researched we have all the topics related to macro and micro economic and their implementation on the real world. We used to sit for examinations every six months which were theoretical in nature and were pretty tough to crack.
