Remarks

Pros : Diverse, Very big college, Have societies for almost all the activities, No discrimination, Great environment inside the campus. Cons - Far away from any city/metro area.2) Not much to roam around in the near by areas. Management is overall good. They are helpful in many matters. We have a police station and hospital inside the college. It also makes college safer place.

Entrance Preview

I gave IIT-JEE in 2012.My score was 181 out of 410. Although this score is not competent enough to get admission in IIT I fall in OBC category. So, I was fortunate to get a college.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is compulsory after 3rd year for B.Tech students and after 4th year for Dual Degree students. Internship gave an insight of the work processes involved in industries and also how we connect it with the theories taught in class.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement and job opportunities vary for every department. But over all, the average is good. Most of the students who enroll for placement get an offer from different companies. And even if some one fails to get so, gets offered when they apply off-campus.

College Events

5

There are many college events in various fields.KshitijKshitij is the largest Techno-Management fest of North-East Asia. It has various events based on technical and management skills of students.Spring Fest : yaa. you might think we are nerds. But even we have a cultural fest. Its 4 day fest with famous bands, artists, EDM and celebrity night.Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) is IIT Kharagpur's annual, international corporate summit conducted by Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur. It is the largest student-level entrepreneurial summit in India. The Indian Case Challenge is a national level case study competition, one of Indiaメs largest in terms of the participation it sees and the prize money at stake. The competition is organised by Business Club, IIT Kharagpur.AIESEC IIT Kharagpur is the Local Committee of AIESEC, world's largest youth run organization. We believe in creating Positive Social Impact on the Society through our exhaustive International Leadership Programmes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees was around 1 lakh per year which includes hostel and mess charges, electricity, internet, Lab. everything. To those who cant afford it, SBI provides education loan and has a branch inside the college. So, you dont have to run all through Kharagpur to get your loan amount sanctioned. Its easy and even SBI works in collaboration with college. So, the loan amount is easily available and processed.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio for undergraduates id generally about 1:8 (girl : boy).Hostel parties are enormous. Each hostel has excellence in some specific skills. So, we all compete for general championships (GC) in all three areas of Tech GC, social and cultural GC and sports GC.The first year students go through many workshops in the field of robotics, sports, dance, debate, drawing and painting, Entrepreneurship and many more. The college is very secular in nature. There is no discrimination at all among any gender. Everybody is free to express their views.

Hostel Facilities

4

Each hostel is equipped with personal LAN port and the complete campus has Wi-Fi connectivity. Each block has its common bathroom and toilet, washing machine, water cooler, aquagaurds etc.Mess food and menu is managed by the students itself. So, one dont have to worry much about food options. You will get all kind of food in mess and there are eateries if you dont like any food. You dont have to fee any extra fees for hostel and mess because its already included in the total fees that we pay for college.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumina network is very strong. Especially the hostel alumina network.Alumina have guided many students in the past and so does the seniors. We have a very friendly atmosphere among all.

Exam Structure

Exam schedule is well organized. And the academic calendar is published in advance. So, all the entire work load distribution is known to all.Every body gets ample amount of time to study as well as participate is regular extra academic activities through out the year.Over all, the exam structure is very comfortable for everyone.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is very interactive. They have great experience in different fields and have helped students to carry out core projects in the field of every individuals interest.

Campus Placements starts after 6th semester and majorily mass recruiters visit the campus and there are more opportunities for the cor branchs as compared to the non core because of the presence of many industries in the nearby areas. For this year, 12lpa is the highest placement in Commvault but the total placement is only around 50-60%, so my plan is to try getting off campus opportunities by the end of my 3rd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
