Vaibhav Gadiya's Review On IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute Of Technology - [IITKGP], Kharagpur

Location is not good apart from campus there is nothing really outside. Calcutta is nearest city which takes 3 hours to go.

I took IIT JEE 237 being one of the oldest and most reputed IITs. IIT Kharagpur has a great infrastrucutre 2200 acre camps opportunities to work in a field other than you have choosed.

Not good did not got selected in any of the campus companies. Finally department provided internships through professors contacts. No stipend offered.

Very good placement Experience. A very well coordinated team. Around 1200 students placed in the first phase December. Average pay around 8-9 lakhs EXL,Essex lake, BMGI,Shell,cairn india 8-18 lakhs.

Inter hall competition for sports,social and culturals,Spring fest Socio cultural fest Kshitiz Techno management fest various other departmental fest like megalith,great step, prithvi.

Fee is Feasible around 50000 per semester for general category. Less for other categories 50000 includes 25000 tuition fee 10000 hostel fee 13000 mess fee.

MCM scolarship around 60000 per year for students whose parents annual salary is less than 2.5 lakhs. Inspire for Msc and Bsc students-70000 per year various other scholarship for merit students and other criterion's too.

Gender ratio 1:13 (girls: boys)hostel parties 2 in every semester( Official )workshops conducted by various societies for 1st years only for instance robotics,debating,dramas, Dance,Arts,entrepreneurship cell,Aisec. No such harassment on the basis of gender,race or religion. We do have societies for different sectors of country such as- Rajasthani, Punjabi,South Indian to celebrate festivals. A student body which governs all the inter hall Activities of Gymkhana Vice president,General Secretaries for Social and Cultural, Technology and sports each. Elections Are held each year in March. Apart from these there are elections held for individual hostels too for hall president,general secretaries.

1st year,2nd year and 3rd year triple sharing enough space 4th year Single rooms currently getting renovated. Good internet connections,mess food is pathetic.

A team for alumni affairs is present. Every year an alumni meet takes place. Seniors acts as mentor in every aspect of the 4 years in college and sharing hostels with them is really a very good experience.

Every professor is very well qualified. A little less enthusiastic towards teaching. Nice projects and provide good guidance to complete the project in final Year.
