Remarks
I was drawn towards the location and facilities in and around the college. It's in Chankyapuri one of the most posh, elite locations of Delhi, it felt very safe and secure. The college was under top 10 science colleges at that point of time, seniors and professors were helpful. One bad thing about the college is the cleanliness of the toilets, anyone would expect a girl's college to atleast have that but I was shocked to see that was not the case. The labs and classrooms were nice, although there were many extra curricular activities but somehow science students were looked down on if they prioritized anything over or close to studies, so I would say less chance for young girls to turn into their own women but that's just my observation. Crowd at the college was good, fests were nice. Overall environment was peaceful, very hush hush. No DU politics. Professors were extremely intelligent and everready to help.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took Life sciences because i wanted to have more exposure, more to study and choose from when i opt for my higher studies. Professors were really nice, helpful and well qualified. I studied under 3 depts. via botany, zoology and chemistry. They must be atleast 10 professors in each department depending on their specification they taught us. Exams were held on semester basis and they were easy to pass given you have studied well.
Placement Experience
There were options but I didn't go for them as i had something different in mind. Students in their 1-2nd years were eligible for internships and by 3rd for full time jobs. I wanted to pursue my career in Civil services so I didn't participate in placements and took a break to study.
Fees and Financial Aid
Mine was an academic course I didn't sit for any campus placements but there were several companies which did hire freshers and gave good offers. Cost of study was not much the whole course was 30k but the living cost was a lot.
Campus Life
Our annual fest was called Rapsody and it was held in January end or February each year. It was a vibrant and fun event. I myself volunteered in it and it was a really nice experience. Many cultural items were organised and many famous singers featured in it(to name a few Guru Randawa, Hardy Sandu, Parmish Verma). There were many societies, clubs such as drama, literature, debate, fashion, music etc. Library is quite nice, many acclaimed magazines and books were easily available to the students, sitting space was provided to read or work in silence. Sports team was also nice but only a few sports were available to play. Classrooms were enabled with whiteboards with projectors.
