Remarks

College faculty is veey good regarding studies but management is poor if u want to take part in certain project or somethibg they will not provide funds easily so the college have to improve it.

Entrance Preview

I got my diploma from thapar polytechnic college patiala which is of 3 years rhen u have to do further studies and due to known reputed university which us thapae university they take their entrance exam to get students admission in B.Tech.

Internships Opportunities

General stiphened offered in 8000 but not for all students some will get or some not it also depends upon cg criteria and student capability like anand group 8000,Tata 18000,Whirlpool 6000,eicher 8000.

Placement Experience

4

Most of the companies came and give average of 6-8 lakh packages like mahindra, maruti suzuki, tcs, tata core,lg,whirlpool, anand group, eicher, honda, eicher volvo, mahalay filters etc.

College Events

4

Arnya is technical and cultural fest held in october-november and there are some prom nights, mudra night and there are some societies like aisec to participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very expensive as comparitive to other colleges like per sem upto 1 lakh in each semester. There is fee structure of every session will be shown in thapar edu but my fee structure us like in 3rd semester 130400,4th semester 98000,5th senester 108000,6th semester 108000,7th semester 124000,8th semester 124000.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yeah some of scholarship policies availed but i dont know the ecact name of policies but there is some sc,st scholarship in which college provide 1.5 lakhs to student and there is some other kind of policy for brilliant students those getting of rs 10000 then after some policies regarding whose family income less than 4 lakh so they provide some kind of releif like 60000-70000 etc. More info if u want to get thapar.

Campus Life

4.5

There is no gender ratio issue both boys and girls take parts in interested cultural and all societies. College is anti ragging policy and there is also no case of suicide due to pressure or work load ans students will also take part in sports and get their positions in state and half fund provided by the university and there is fluid dynamics lab which is very good and popular in punjab which have all the equipments and during occassion like diwali they held parties also.

Hostel Facilities

4

It was good because as comparitive to other colleges or pg they provide very good food but charges also high like hostel fee per sem is 30000 and per month mess charges is rs 2200 to 2600.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are mostly awesome because interactions should be more easily when we take part in events like societies and fest.

Exam Structure

Yeah exams and labs are hectic because most of the time must held continuously or even 2 exams in one day but in est there is some kind of releif but syllsbus is too much and later on there should be lab evaluation and quizes and project work is now necessary due to merging with trinity university, dublin. So work pressure is high and it is very hectic.

Faculty

4.5

It is quiet good all were from IIT and bits pilani and gets their phd from reputed university and also they know how to teach students.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
