Remarks

College overall is quite good but if anywhere it needs to improve it will be its management. They can be a bit more structural and organised and work within time constraints.

Curriculum is well organised and strict weightage is given on core subjects. Code club is also present for getting accustomed to coding environment and perform well in placements. Competitive programming is also done in this club. Apart from this seniors also help in placements.

Top product based companies and multi national companies comes for college recruitment including Microsoft, samsung, goldman sachs, amazon, tata, l&t, synposys and much more. Yes, college always provides an environment to motivate and help during placement.

Fests include Srijan, U Turn, Sanskriti which is one of the India's largest and most held days fest. Anyone can participate in numerous interesting events. Many well known personalities perform in this fest. Students from various colleges can take part and enjoy here.

Fee is very nominal. For engineering less than 10000 is the tution fee. Other semester and charges are also very nominal. Every one can afford studying here. This is the cheap and best college in entire india. Hostel and mess charges are also very less.

Gender ratio is about 20 males to 7 females. Various clubs are also present for extra co curricular activities. Numerous different labs are present for each departments. No discrimination is done on basis of caste, creed, religion, sex etc. People from different states as well as different country comea ro study here.

Hostel Facilities

No, I haven't opted for hostels but have visited quite often. The bed and electricity charges are very low compared to other pgs nearby. Each room in boys hostel have 4 beds with sufficiently large area. Mess food is also good.

Alumni/Alumna

Jadavpur University alumni is very vast. Their alumni are spread all over the globe. Be it in research field or professional career you have pretty high chance to meet someone from Jadavpur.

Admission

Through West Bengal joint entrance examination. Over than 1 lac aspirants take the exam but only top 10% can secure a position here. The entrance exam consists of physics, chemistry and mathematics, MCq based. To crack this you need to have high speed as well as high accuracy.

Faculty

Faculty members are around 50 for computer science department. All of them are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Almost all of them are either doing phd or have done it. Some of them are very experienced in their areas of expertise. All of them have many papers and publications in renowned international papers and journals.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
